  1. Spot on! Cooper's alleged idea of 'defending from the front' with Ndidi and Ayew is extremely flawed. The fact is we're statistically top of the Premier League for shots against and bottom for shots for! The fact we've got 6 points has been more about luck than managerial judgement and tactics. One reason it isn't working is that playing that way offers no threat whatsoever and the opposition, contrary to Cooper's reasoning, have an easy time defensively and concentrate on merely attacking us! Let's be honest, some of the scorelines have flattered us and had it not been for some poor finishing we could have shipped 6 goals easily on a couple of occasions. By playing Mavididi, Vardy Buonanotte and Fatawu from the start would surely have more effect on both extremes of those stats quoted. Neither Buonanotte or Fatawu are shy at completing their defensive duties and certainly offer far more in the final third than Ndidi and Ayew. Lose against Southampton due to a defensive 'must not lose' approach deserves Cooper to be thrown out on his ear ... but I doubt it would happen.
  2. Agree with all bar JJ. He's been a liability on the right and showed last season in a weaker league that he's even worse on the left! Personally I don't think Kristiansen has done that, they all have off games. There's certainly been more goals and opposition chances from down the right than from the left.
  3. He should have 'inferior' in brackets on his right one then because the Premier League experience shown by Reid, Ayew and Edouard thus far isn't actually worth having. We'd have been far better just keeping what we'd got and promoting from within albeit Buonanotte and Skipp have been very useful additions. You'd have to be blind to have thought the other three were going to be a major contribution from their previous Premier League experience.
  4. Is anyone aware of his plan because I'm buggered if I've been able to detect one thus far?
  5. If you used the maxim of who a player played for and their finishing league positions, then Vardy wouldn't look too special over a long period yet everyone knows he is. There's somewhat of an assumption there that Coady was responsible for Wolves relative success whereas in practice, he played a good role and was just part of a team. Likewise, you could argue that Vestergaard was a big part of why they weren't relegated, it's all relative. Vestergaard also captained Munchengladbach, Southampton and his national side. Again, relatively speaking you could argue that Demark's national team is on paper inferior to England's, however, there'd have never been a remote possibility that Coady would have captained them.
  6. How do you know that, Coady has hardly ever played for us either due to injury or not getting picked. The only form you can go on is before he came to Leicester and that's a long time ago now, certainly Premiership wise! In comparison, albeit Championship, Vestergaard was one of our players of the season last year and has a better history than Coady in terms of Premier League and international football where he still represents his country well.
  7. I really think they've lost it with this one. It's one thing raising money for charity and making sure it's known your doing it for PR, but quite another doing something like this for kids. It demonstrates a lack of caring and commercialism that now becomes very transparent. There was a time that many clubs got their players to interact with their supporters admittedly for some PR but it also gave something back and stimulated interest and perhaps ensured young supporters for the future. I also think some of the players got something out of it too. Andy King always seemed pretty keen in particular when out and about. I remember taking my then young nephew to a signing day where he spoke to Elliott, Lennon and Izzet, he was full of it! Of course it later also involved a visit to the club shop so it's not as if the club lost out. It also ensures that merchandise gets bought at Christmas and birthdays and in my case, later the purchase of season tickets for my kids as they got introduced. If kids don't go due to ticket prices or because of finances for such events as these, then they'll lose interest. Unless cynically of course they're not even interested in them in the first place and just want the more potentially profitable rich kids to attend? Surely the money wasted on free drinks, donuts or clappers etc would be better diverted to this if they think they need to make or save more money? The club, it's identity and history, is gradually being eroded away I think. After all these years since the late 60s when I first went down with my Dad, for the last three years I'm starting to feel quite a disconnect from the club. Yet it wasn't this way at all when Vichai and his family first came, quite the opposite. These lot are now so aloof and disconnected from the real world and supporters that they're simply unaware of it.
  8. Very poor Leicester City 😢.
  9. Absolutely. Giving teams like that problems to navigate on the left, right and centre is potentially game changing. Instead, the opposition knew that if they could just stop the threat from the left, they were free to pour forward at will!
  10. Cooper tried his best to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again with his substitutions but couldn't quite manage it this week. Must be gutted.
  11. I can't see Corberan wanting to leave, West Brom doing well at the moment plus our lot seemed to baulk at paying compensation last time. I can't say Potter convinces me personally but I can't really justify that. I think Moyes could be a decent shout and has the experience to turn things round.
  12. It's perhaps a bit of a toss up who gets relieved of their duties first ie our manager or Southampton's? In an ideal world it would be us first in order get a first approach in for a likely successor. However, can anyone actually think of someone really decent who'd be currently available and also likely to come? I can't personally think of one!
  13. Yet he's hardly played under either manager. I do in fairness however see his point. Even to the layman, whether you liked Enzo's style or not, there was a sense of discipline, purpose and ethos. Under Cooper there's just a sense of clutching at straws without a tactical thought in his head. It's as if he's ignored last year's player success stories and their strengths and ploughed ahead with the same fruitless strategies that he failed with last time he was in the Premier League.
  14. Wasn't great I agree but surely would be a better choice than Reid under the circumstances? I've not seen him have one good game yet.
  15. Whilst the scoreline at 2-2 flattered to deceive somewhat, it was a case of just needing to hang on in injury time. Yet again Cooper makes bizarre substitutions? If we were to accept that for the last 7 minutes, fresh legs were required, why on earth Reid and El Khannouss? The former has shown no previous indication, despite some limited Premier League experience that he's going to be any use in a fight and the latter, who is very promising for the future, similar and very lightweight. Other alternatives were Ricardo, an established defender with an attacking threat, Choudhury who isn't afraid of mixing it up in a battle and Coady, despite his calamity last game out. How on earth could he justify it? I sometimes think he's a little bit simple 🤷.
  16. I think you're right about the should be finishing position but we wouldn't achieve that with Cooper. That's the crux of the problem.
  17. Maddison Ricardo Soyuncu Diabate Ghezzal Tielemans (initial loan) Evans Off the top of my head. Now can you compare Cooper's?
  18. He stayed up by the skin of his teeth more to do with the inadequacies and misfortunes of others. He got sacked for good reason. He's repeating the same. We were getting 'dicked' 2yrs ago because we were being managed by another total inadequate who the board failed to sack way before he should have gone. Is it logical to just rinse and repeat? I don't think so!
  19. Yes. JJ nowadays is even worse on the left than the right and showed so in the Championship, he was all over the place! Being naturally right footed he also had to cut inside and was no use whatsoever in an attacking sense. Ricardo is the better player despite reputation he wasn't much better and won't have improved with age. Kristiansen can be a bit raw as a young lad finding his feet but has been better with Mavididi in front of him rather than when the poor Reid has been there or even Ayew.
  20. Dump JJ and put a proper centre half in there that can position himself and not gift the ball to the opposition every 5 minutes and you may be onto something? Vestergaard isn't doing much lately and he can pass to his own players too!
  21. Of course people will mention Forest it'sinevitable! However, don't judge people in the belief that it's because he was previously the manager of a 'supposed' arch enemy. We were very happy with O'Neil and Morgan weren't we! Supporters are stupid. The biggest reason that they point at his time at Forest isn't rivalry based, it's more that appart from the great job he did there once in getting them promoted, it was clear that when he arrived in the Premiership, he was clearly out of his depth and they had to sack him eventually to avoid relegation! Despite having had ample time out to recover and learn from his mistakes, he's merely repeating them, you only have to read some of the Forest supporters comments and then look back at his supposed tactics then and compare them to now to understand what's happening. He's incredibly limited and it's only natural for supporters to voice there opinions on a forum or at a game. Do you honestly believe that supporters being all happy clappy at the games is actually going to help? Will it turn Cooper into Guadiola? Unless the right players are picked, given reasonable tactics and game plan with meaningful substitutions at the right time then absolutely diddley squat is going to happen. Cooper absolutely should be put under pressure by supporters. Who knows, if there's any truth in the reports, the players might be very grateful!
  22. Absolutely, it's more about the who you buy and not the what you pay. Also, every team buys duds at times, however, a good scouting team can reduce risks by selecting the right players in the cheaper echelons of football. Those players like Marhez and Vardy will take time to adapt before they sparkle. We used to be fairly consistent in how we did this.
  23. 15th but some of the teams below us have had far more difficult games than us.
  24. Yes that's fair, just shoot him if he refuses to go?
  25. On first read I thought that was a bit extreme, I thought it said 'best for everyone if we shot him now'!
