  1. Have you read Show me the bodies yet? Incredible read.
  2. There are many that are stuck, thats true. This has nothing to do with the inquiry from Grenfell which has been effective. The issue is much more nuanced than you suggest and the effectiveness of the Grenfell Report has changed construction completely. Much of the current issues with existing flats and cladding are related to insurance companies setting their own rules. The biggest issue with the Grenfell report was that it was unable to pin down any one failing within the industry. This means the public is not going to see someone in court for manslaughter as the problems with that particular building project were wide ranging. The failures occurred at all levels including with the regulations being followed. The below image was produced by one of the KC's involved in the enquiry. The story behind 'Carl Stokes' is incredible to read.
  3. Grenfell has totally changed the Building Control regulatory framework. It has made more changes to construction than anything we have seen since Ronan Point.
  4. The players have looked unfit for years. We used to be the fittest in the league to the point of doping accusations from other clubs. We looked tired all the time which is down to the mentality and lack of professionalism within the club. If we aren't fit then the players will pick up more injuries at non training times.
  5. https://archive.is/20250620103605/https://www.economist.com/britain/2025/06/19/the-english-midlands-is-unjustly-overlooked Interesting read.
  6. Whats worse is they got away and no one knows who they are. Its a red flag to Russia to start wandering round airfields. I saw @st albans fox comment and assumed they had been on a backwater base where barely anything goes on. But Brize is major stuff, its one of the busiest air bases we have left.
  7. We do bits with quarries and the freight lines are full. They get offered 1 slot a week if they are lucky to get their product out. We actually use our railway a lot more than many people realise for both passenger and freight which is why they get away with their pricing.
  8. The actual benefits are a large increase in capacity on the lines, particularly for freight trains. The high speed part was thought to resonate with the public better when the reality is everyone just takes the mick over the 7 minutes saved from Birmingham.
  9. The person or company that owns it know where it is? I have no idea!
  10. If he hadn't missed all those sitters under Smith we might have stayed up. Seems very wasteful on attacking set pieces.
  11. Maresca figured he would be up against low-blocks in every game and his defenders didn't seem to prioritise defending. I assume thats why he liked Faes over more conventional defenders like Souttar.
  12. I don't who owns it now. I would guess the developers of the land rather than the club.
  13. It still exists somewhere. Im not sure where its stored but I know its around as its supposed to be incorporated into the Filbert St development.
  14. The point of a 4 day week is to work efficiently and produce the same outcomes in 4 days as you do in 5. This compressed hours stuff is a nonsense, as the majority of people become less effective as the days get longer.
  15. It might be feasible with a direct train to Europe missing London, or maybe a swap at Ebbsfleet International. If you haven't done it, its a dream compared to flying.
  16. They are extending it in Europe. More importantly though, the rest of the UK doesn't want to pay to go to London to get on it. Most would rather drive there like you do with the airport.
  17. Except you have to go to London first. They need to open Ebbsfleet again.
  18. Engineer. We split Fridays off currently. But we couldn't close on a Friday because of other businesses being on a 5 day. We probably look at either alternating Mondays and Fridays each week so it's a consistent 4 day week with a 3 day weekend. We are hoping for a 32 hour working week.
  19. We are on 4.5 days and we have plans to head towards a 4 day week as a company in the future. I'm hoping AI will be the final nail that sees us over that line.
  20. It's Leicestershire. In the Midlands. We really aren't important.
  21. Apologies, I meant air India. Still strange though.
  22. Boeing have already offered the families 86k each, which is really weird.
  23. The known survivor has already released a statement from the hospital. Was sat in seat 11a.
  24. You missed out VAR a couple more times. Also, the dilution of atmospheres at the grounds under the guise of increased tourism and improving the atmosphere for families has sanitised the experience of following football.
  25. Golf club members would be a very different stat!
