I completely understand why people want lower immigration, but weirdly an awful lot of them want no immigration and their anger is directed to the actual immigrants, rather than to those who have badly managed the situation. If you're standing in a mob, red in the face, yelling at people living on £9 a week in a hotel, you're not a concerned citizen, you're a racist.

Anyone else watching Atomic People on BBC4? Interviews with survivors of the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The Hibakusha. Truly horrific descriptions. A weapon so terrifying it hasn't been used for 80 years. What kind of sentient race would keep such things?

I think it's safe to say that some people are doing something to other people that a lot of people don't agree with, though there is some previous form giving some indication as to why this is happening and not everyone accepts that this should probably change so that the previous contretemps don't occur again.
