  1. Also, they're only sick of it if it's contrary to their own political views. You don't get right wingers banging on about Kid Rock, KanYe or Bryan Ferry.
  2. Not saying this in defence of the guy, but suppose you are lucky enough to have two residences (and TBF, I always thought you paid council tax on each that you own) that you spend roughly an equal amount of time in, or flit between both so much that it's difficult to be sure? Or if you say one is your primary residence and due to other circumstances (sudden repairs needed, change of job, visitors) you actually spend more time in the other?
  3. Difficult to have one uninterrupted term. Would Cameron be the last PM to do that?
  4. Yes. I think maybe also there's an element of Stephen King's IT in there too. I especially liked that the rats took their names from words they'd read on discarded packaging in a rubbish tip.
  5. Ye gods! Imagine bleary-eyed leaving the bathroom first thing in the morning and seeing Tommy Shelby staring at you. "I dint say nuffin' Tommy!"
  6. I would also add, if you're self-employed, but not really, cos it's under the terms of the company (something I think shouldn't be allowed, you either are or aren't working for them), when you do have holiday, they might still expect the job to get done and you have to arrange someone else to cover for you. Also all costs for tools, vehicles, fuel etc involved in the job will come out of that extra money. I'm the same, would go employed, unless the difference in pay was massive and even then if the employed pay was good, I'd take that for the easier life. I'm very much in the work to live, not live to work camp.
  7. That sounds like our manager recruitment policy.
  8. Just read The Long Shoe by Bob Mortimer. Some really funny moments, especially the bit where he's showing the new tenant who's moving in round his house. Once again though, the protagonist is basically Bob himself, but if you can overlook that, it's a fun, easy read. Which was just what I needed after reading 1984. Also read The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett. As it's primarily aimed at kids, I'd never read it, but it's perfectly accessible as an adult and I'd argue that it's a bit dark for pre-teens, who might not get a lot of the references either. It's one of my favourite Discworld books now though.
  9. Don't need glory hunters.
  10. I think we know where Reform stand on black or white
  11. That's because Wolves never sign exotic players.
  12. So it's context then. Like saying, "I could eat a horse", is fine, but not at Ascot
  13. Saw an advert for a mobile phone service that "comes with hundreds of free essential apps". Erm... Essential? There's not one single essential app. Even owning a mobile phone isn't essential. I'd even argue that there's not even 100 very useful apps, assuming you only had one app to send messages, one to read/write docs, one to view/edit photos, etc. How these things get past advertising standards is a mystery. No doubt they argue that, "when we say essential, we don't mean essential." Well use another word then!
  14. But yoush ma best fwend.
  15. You and who's army?
  16. Illicit whisky still uncovered after 200 years - BBC News https://share.google/XUQCcE2zgIsxUknyt How do they know if it's still uncovered?
  17. That recently? I honestly thought it would have gone in the early 90s.
  18. 7 votes for Labour in Birmingham council elections.
  19. And surely if they've now only won by one vote, then there needs to be a recount?
  20. That's not an argument, that's just a contradiction.
  21. Can we rename this thread the argument thread?
  22. 活着为了什么?
  23. 24 hour Love Island, Chicken Tikka Masala Pizza, Kebab-flavour vapes, extra long flumes at leisure pools and 6G data coverage? Dunno, sounds risky.
