  1. The way many people are about their pets (and I say this as someone who has had several pets) is boggling. Recently Dobbies garden centre got taken over by another company and as we like visiting garden centres I thought I'd check out the reviews on Google. The average score was 3.2 out of 5, not great, but I noticed that reviews seemed to be either 1 or 5 stars. I decided to read the 1 star reviews to see what the problem might be. The new owners had brought in the rule of no dogs the cafe and boy, the dog loving community kicked off big time! I didn't matter if the food was nice, the staff courteous and polite, the plants well looked after and the prices competitive.... I CAN'T TAKE MY DOG IN! My question is, does your dog really want to go to the garden centre?
  2. I think that it should be a legal requirement that any cat that is allowed out (and for the record, they should be. I'm no fan of people keeping their pets imprisoned.) should have to wear a collar with a bell on it.
  3. Brilliant! Slight tweek... The beam of light comes from between his cheeks, blinding the Cov fans, so that the GOAT's goal is the last thing they ever see.
  4. No wonder our squad is so lacking in motivation.
  5. We had a bird box we planned to put up and left on top of our small garden tools shed. While we were on holiday some blue tits moved in, been watching them coming and going for the past few days. Until this morning when we found the box on the floor (about 4ft drop). My wife put it back where it was, but reports no activity Guess one of the neighbours' cat is the culprit. I'd be fine if a creature was doing it for food, but cats are the only other thing than man that hunts for sport.
  6. Jeremy Monga NB, only kidding if you see this Jezza
  7. How does a country with half the population of the UK, that is mostly desert, need that much weaponry? It's like that biggest American Candy Shop laundering front. One despot to another.
  8. Robo-nurse.
  9. Are we allowed to say how's your father any more? How's your Y chromosome donating parent?
  10. Just saw on the news that cheap immigrant care workers will soon be a thing of the past as work visas are tightened. So expect to pay much more for your care home fees in future. I can't see rich care home owners (nor the government) absorbing the costs. I do wonder how many people who bang in about cheap immigrant workers would want any of their family doing those jobs for that money. A huge part of the problem is that British people just won't do it. Consistently our governments bang on about education and increasing skills... whilst we have a huge shortfall in simple manual labouring jobs Go figure.
  11. What makes our relegation worse is the fact that if we had stayed up, it would likely be Spurs or Man Ure taking our place.
  12. They're definitely out there. I mean, Sikh and ye shall find. Sorry
  13. Seems like a reasonable conclusion. On another point, saw the first swifts of the year over our house today.
  14. Everyone has a talent.
  15. Oh, I think they've learned. They just they weren't paying attention. It occurred to me recently, when Henry Ford said history is bunk, if it actually was, no one would know that.
  16. Are you saying these people are following a commonly known, tried and tested method of despots? For shame!
  17. Has @Dr The Singh been struck off?
  18. Does that make him a worse serial killer, or a better one? Debate.
  19. In RPG video games I sometimes, after completing a game in my usual positive/good fashion, try to do it again making all the evil choices. I find it really difficult though. Not saying I'm as pure as the driven snow I would be disturbed by someone who played such a game, going down the evil course, without realising that was what they were doing though.
  20. France has an area the size of Paris called Zone Rouge, that is essentially a no-man's-land due to the remaining unexploded bombs and mines there from WW1
  21. People will say this is too harsh a sentence, but at the end of the day they were willing to do something that would upset millions, with no thought or care for the possible consequences. Apply that to life in general and they're knobs who are best removed from society.
  22. So long as your granddaughter doesn't get a Duke of York award
  23. I think it's just a good thing we weren't fighting in Denmark.
  24. Surely it's an honour to be compared to the dark lord.
