  1. Chelsea - where good managers go to die.
  2. Back! It's everyone Sounds interesting - any good?
  3. What happened in 1177 BC(E)? Minoan? Egyptian Old Kingdom? I'm off to Google it.
  4. I think this one is pretty crazy. Leicester City are unbeaten in their last 8 games played on New Year's Day (W 7/D 1). This is more than any other team in the top 4 divisions.
  5. Like Trump says, very dangerous city, maybe the worst in the world.
  6. For those of you feeling down because of the date, remember that it's ultimately just another day. For many people it's not even the start or end of the year, based on belief or culture. Even for people who see today as significant, just think, almost half the world has already seen the new year in, for good or bad. In the end, it's just about where you are and what you've been told is important (but ultimately isn't). Enjoy tomorrow. Or yesterday. Just enjoy. We love you.
  7. Tax deducted at source?
  8. Thing is about civilised people is they rise above human nature. We all, as adults, do things we wouldn't do if they hadn't been instilled in us during childhood. All a baby knows is I need this and I need it now; it has no concept of others and their needs and desires. Tolerance and empathy is learnt and is the mark of civilised society. To say that it's impossible, that we all succumb to the beast within? No. I've seen and been involved with community where it has been possible, human "nature" put aside and it's a beautiful way to live. Sure it's not perfect, but what is? If you can learn from mistakes, maybe even atone for them, then you can get through multitudes of misunderstandings and contretemps.
  9. A good number of people on here hate people just because of the football team they support. If anything, football encourages tribalism. It's a feeling of belonging, which in the increasing absence of religion and smaller rural communities, fills a vacuum. It's weird how other sports have rivalry without hatred. Why is it football that has gone down this route? If course, you don't HAVE TO hate other teams or fans. Myself, at worst I have distain for anyone who supports a team they didn't grow up with or isn't their most local, and I have a lot of respect for supporters of teams who have never been in the EPL.
  10. Shame, I enjoyed your posts
  11. Frees up wages to take on Antonio?
  12. You should see his cousin!
  13. News to some.
  14. My father-in-law definitely had a shotgun.
  15. Or Caitlyn Jenner
  16. Culture defenders, don't worry We have no taste for curry No, keep it dower We don't want sweet AND sour Cos roast beef is all that you need. We want a white, English hero, Not the invention of zero And we'll live in houses in rows Instead of quaint bungalows Cos foreigners are too much to feed. We invented sports for all Rugby, cricket, tennis, football Now we don't compete, we cus That other countries are better than us This country has all gone to seed. Keep England pure, free from the others Not even the Scots are sisters or brothers They come here for free money Even though it's not sunny Just don't allow them to breed. No EPL title, with Thais not allowed Just more seasons spent under a cloud No Kaamark, no Mahrez, the silky smooth weaver No Heskey, no Huth, no FA cup win either. Who cares if we ever succeed? The above does not necessarily represent the views of the author.
  17. Or Drew Barrymore
  18. Wilfred Nancy. Not saying I'd want him, just that it's realistic.
  19. We moan about Cifuentes, but how bad must Nancy be?
  20. Hey, it's panto season.
  21. You know, if you took all Muslims in the UK they'd make the 2nd largest (and by some margin), Poles would be 8th (would have been 4th a few years back - I guess Poland has better benefits now), Romanians not far behind and Italians about the size of Leicester. However, these people don't all live in one big lump, they're all through our community. Likewise, new immigrants (legal or otherwise) are dispersed across the nation. In short, I don't see you point. Do you feel overwhelmed by Italians?
  22. Love the way you say "in England alone*. So if you add in the whole of the UK it'll more likely be 50th, or something like that.
  23. Often they are sold a Dick Whittington style story of streets paved with gold by people traffickers in their own country (modern day slavers, essentially). I would think they have little concept of "benefits".
