I think he loves the club too much to walk away, but you're right in a sense that he is the last line of defence between reality and Top/Rudkin. If he walks away there is literally no one left to hold the fort and that would be beyond embarrassing for those responsible.

Why should he? He's only there because we have no one left and our ownership are desperate and despicable. This isn't a job he wants or is qualified for yet.
