there’s a series on Netflix about the worlds toughest jails. Some quite harrowing but some very interesting concepts going on in Scandinavia where the emphasis is on rehabilitation and not punishment. Quite interesting. Massive drop in reoffending compared to ‘ normal’ jails.

I feel like we need a Del Boy style approach to any offers we get other than the spine of the team, of course..

I work with a Surgeon who converted to Catholicism and he is the absolute poster boy for someone who believes all the conspiracy theories..

You should buy him. Definitely. To be fair, hes a decent shot stopper and he's young and he'll get better. If you buy him for 2m you'd make a profit if he gets some games under his belt.

But white is Derby and you'd wear that? we've had red before and thats forest... i mean.. its a strange thing to not want to wear...

Very odd to be linked with a GK. It remains a possibility that this is just agent talk to get him a new contract.

Me too.half of me wanted Everton to do badly, the other half wanted them to win everything so ‘ our Gary’ could get all the plaudits.. -
i was really only just poking fun at the “ you can’t over talk me, I’m a woman, line”.
-
It’s question time. NO ONE gets uninterrupted time! That’s equality for you!
-
“ Hold on Stephen, I’m the only woman on the panel. Please Allow me time to talk and expand my argument “ is she saying she should be given more time because she’s a woman?

he didn’t look scared to me, he just looked like he’s taking it very seriously, which we don’t often see.

Fury is in tip top condition for this one. He’s clearly taking it very seriously.

Daka to Bournemouth is a tasty deal..
-
I do think that it will take a change of leadership in Ukraine for them to agree to any kind of deal,. Zelensky would never agree to ceding even an inch of Ukrainian land, and with the amount of assassination attempts on Zelensky they have had to foil, that might happen sooner rather than later.

I think you've answered your own conundrum, there..

Since when has a Tory done anything on time?

i agree completely that its not an easy or overnight fix, and its one of the reasons im pleased starmer acknowledged hes doing to be on a decade long program get to where he wants to be..

When i was a kid i dreamed that instead of signing for Everton, my family and i raised the money for Gary Lineker to come and live with us instead. I remember , in my dream, talking to him whilst eating my cornflakes and i told him that i was taught in school that Woodlouse were a type of isopod and he seemed very impressed that i knew that. -
Its good to see he is talking about 'a decade of national renewal' and i hope this is something that everyone in the labour party, especially the economists understand, that what has been undone in 14 years cant be fixed over night. But yeah the 6,500 teachers, i dont think hes saying that they'll all be hired in the first year or two, but he's saying things like that will take a decade to fix, and i at least respect him for that..

theyd probably get more money from squeezing their employees more and by raising the costs of whatever their companies sell. my point really is that looking at the models of how other countries do things, with higher tax bands for the rich can be the aim, but we can’t just elect a new government and expect us to get to that place. It has to be a sustainable progressive transition. Taxing large corporate owners even more, in the short term, will only result in increased costs ( they’ll want to keep their profit margins) without an increase in wages and that’s not what the average guy on the streets needs right now. It’s working in places like Denmark et all because it’s happened over a span of time that’s allowed the rest of the economy to move with it. Handled wrongly, and suddenly Labour will be the band guys for crashing the economy and in 4 years here come ‘ new progressive Tories’ promising to fix the economy and people believing them.
-
I think you missed what I was trying to say. That being with the amount of money that is needed to get us out of this mess we are in just simply ‘taxing the rich’ isn’t going to bring in enough money. Denmark is definitely I model worth following, but just upping the tax band to the level they use without proportional wage rises to compensate, it’s just not workable. We would see a huge rise in the cost of living a cross the board and this would hit those who definitely don’t need the cost of living to rise even another penny.

In 1865 more than 150 people set sail for Argentina from Wales to form a welsh colony. This chap from Wrexham goes to see if he can find anyone who speaks welsh fluently… and he does! Nice little video: made me smile!

I agree with everything you are saying here, but I have yet to here or see a plausible way out of this mess from Labour.. it’s going to take a lot of money to fix what needs fixing but, where is it all going to come from? I’ll add, just declaring “ tax the rich” ( to the extent we would need to for the amount that is needed) is a bit naive and not very workable..

“ well I’m out of contract but all I have had is an offer from Wrexham. Maybe if I’m at Leicester for another year and play well in the prem, I might get a decent offer..
