Writing in Sports, Ethics & Philosophy: Journal of the British Philosophy of Sport Association, academics from the University of Winchester, Bournemouth University and Nottingham Trent University concluded that letting children play impact sports contradicts existing British laws that prohibit child abuse, and that the sports’ governing bodies “effectively groom children into sustaining and accepting brain trauma.” The Rugby Football Union (RFU), the sport’s governing body in England, told CNN that “player welfare has and will continue to be our top priority.” England Boxing had not replied to CNN’s request for comment at the time of publication. “The child’s brain doesn’t know or care how it was traumatized,” study lead author Eric Anderson, Professor of Sport at the University of Winchester, told CNN. “The injury remains the same. And so we need to stop parents from hitting children in the head as punishment. But we also need to stop children from being hit in the head as a form of play.”

I do get the impression that Rudkin is a yes man. He will be given a remit and will be told to make it happen. I really dont think all financial and therefore all footballing decisions are down to him. I mean, Maresca's first interview was done without Rudkin's knowledge wasn't it?

Its becoming more apparent to me that he will be playing a lot more for the rest of the season and it will be in a more central role..

They have made mistakes in the past. Are you suggesting we should carry along the same path and bow to public pressure and buy players we can’t afford and risk breaking FFP rules??

it could be argued we got relegated because 2 clubs broke FFP rules.. we tried to stick to them hence the relegation

A badly run club is one that breaks FFP rules and gets points deducted.

yeah I get that things change. But I put it to you that this was an unwarranted change brought about needlessly. ( Rennie leaving) yes it was alleged that it was Rennie leaking the team sheets but we can only guess about this.. to say it was an unraveling mess at the time is 100 % accurate
