Not a massive fan of people in here calling for Cifuentes to play the Academy products and then getting the hump when they aren't immediately clicking and slagging them off. I think a bit of patience is merited.

When he had a sit down in the penalty area and allowed their striker in, it made me wonder what monstrosities Nelson and Faes have been up to in training.

He's a Belgian international, unlike Vesty, he actually occasionally scores with his head, and when he's on it, he's actually solid. However, we've seen his shortcomings during our demise and sometimes his attitude ain't it. I support his right to give some back today, though. Booing him onto the pitch was not right. You just have to hope that prospective buyers have not done their homework and are unaware of his tendency to commit the most horrendous brain farts when it really matters and hurts, and that he is prone to stand around pointing and blaming when we really don't need that.

Faes came on as a sub. I called it in the match thread as he waited on the sidelines and loads of comments were posted in here "Faes, FFS" etc, that he would probs get booed as he came on and so it came to occur. Quite audibly on the TV. Whilst some are suggesting maybe it was fans saying "Wooot", no it wasn't, it was deffo booing him. You could see on the TV Faes heard it and grinned, shaking his head, so when he scored, that's why he cupped his ears at the fans.

He had a bad day, but he's not Soumaré, and it's fairly certain that we will need him at some point this season.

I particularly enjoyed that bit in the second half where he loitered nonchalantly on the half way line and the Wednesday attacker ran behind him to almost nip in 1 on 1.

If only Daka's header had gone in (and I don't blame Daka, it was a good save) Jordan Ayew's run to set it up would have become the stuff of legend.

On the negative side, Okoli was a bit bombscare, tbh. And the less said about Skipp the better.

Well done the Wednesday fans who were loud and proud and good on the City fans who clapped them in. Ayew, BEK and Vesty grew into it. Good. Fatawu really good again. Don't like to see a City player get booed ONTO the pitch, but he gave it back
