Soumaré to have a legendary game and be undroppable from now on. Or be booed for walking as we concede and subbed for Skipp at half time. There is no middle ground.
-
That defending was rank. You'd be angry if City conceded one if those.

The ref in this game is a lookalike of Lieutenant Gorman from the film Aliens. "I want you to lay down a surpressing fire with the incinerators and fall back by squads..." [admittedly niche ref from a 1986 movie ]

"Important cog" Sorry, what, now? Oh... "COG".

If you know any Newcastle fans, tell them that they'd probably have won this game with Isak still in the side. That'll cheer them up

The new format means that there isn't a return fixture, so Simeone is going to have to stew on whatever has occurred for a while.

I know it's over 8 years ago, I know they are playing the Scousebasts, but if you are seeing Atletico Madrid, Simeone and Griezmann, and you are not getting a throbbing vein in your temple because of blind rage caused by THIS SHIT : then you aint proper Leicester. I'm still fuming about it. Cheating basts.

This commentator is like the polar opposite of Peter Drury. So chilled. It's like listening to cricket, golf or snooker -
There was fury in here when it looked like he might come to manage LCFC. Dodged a bullet.

If you judged players entirely on the one game of their debut, get the statue to Tete erected.

Can't believe this thread Title didn't contain "Frank Lampard's Coventry".

Just watched it, belatedly, having maintained radio silence all day. Good away point. I don't care for the snobbery involved in thinking we have a divine right to beat Oxford. We are in the same league because we got relegated when we weren't good enough for the Prem. They are also in this league. We need to pit ourselves against the teams in this league and people assuming we should easily beat all of them every weekend are probs going to have a bad time, sometimes. First half was fairly poor, but I thought the red was harsh. It should have been a yellow, but the crowd, the players and the guy tackled all went for the Oscar, as if Ramsey has snapped his leg off, and the ref, who was weak, bought it. I thought Cifuentes made good changes and we were the more likely side to nick it second half. They all put a shift in , but I reckon Chowdhury, Vestergaard, Ayew, Fatawu (til he ran out of juice) and of course the subs all made a positive difference. Even Skipp was ok second half. Bring on the Cov.

I'm working today, so I'm recording it and will watch it after 5pm. As such, no internet, no radio, no TV, no WhatsApp messages and no FoxesTalk for me all day. See you on the flip side... COYB -

Tough for the bowlers Really entertaining. If Rabada wasn't an established superstar, you might question all those oversteps -

The last man red card stuff was introduced to prevent cynical last ditch tackles, which would prevent a goal. Not sure that's that. -

The ref bears a certain resemblance to Leandro "I see Dead People" Trossard. -

Serbs are going to end up playing behind closed doors. They just can't behave themselves. -
Agree. They were really lucky with injuries last season. That can't last. And it won't under Ange.

It won't be Glasner, surely? Haven't Forest done enough damage to Palace?

Will be fun watching them get a "name" in who wants to play their own version of tiki-taka with a team Nuno honed into soak-it-up-and-counter-attack specialists. I reckon their next manager is gone by February.

People who care about this stuff, and let it influence politics in any way whatsoever, scare me. Conflating "Britain" and "England" in matters of religion is asking for trouble. 17th Century style. Luckily, in Scotland it's now deffo atheism.

I always thought that supranational corporate bodies, megamoney and global trade would make the Nation State less important. Brands would be bigger than most countries. Large trading blocs would make flags and anthems and border crossings less important. But with the retrenchments of the last 15 years, and especially since 2016, I see that it was all a dream and I didn't know my Fukayama from my elbow.

You wouldn't have expected it, but there are a few bits of Glasgow with Saltires having gone up on lamp posts, seemingly imitating what's going on down there. Given what goes on with other "flegs" and marches every Summer, you would think Scotland would be a bit wary of that kind of thing.
