  1. He’s 34 - and will be on a whopping wage - probably something like £100,000 a week. Ayew, as a comparison is 32 and is probably closer to £30,000 a week. So Antonio - way out of our price range and not the answer we’re looking for in terms of striking options, we want someone we can rotate with Vardy, i.e. one start, play 60-75 minutes, the other comes on last 15. Fotis certainly fits that profile - so I imagine we’ll have had some contact with Panathinaikos since their Ajax game.
  2. I really don’t think we need to be concerned with the idea of Chilwell coming back to us - I doubt it’s a transfer either party are considering.
  3. Füllkrug - but outside of that West Han have Bowen, Ings and Antonio as strikers, so they will probably be in for one more striker before the window closes. I’d put Abraham in the same category as Reiss Nelson in terms of transfer for us. Both will be on sizeable wages and if we act now, teams ahead of us with budget remaining will probably compete - so we might need to be patient, let those teams spend and act later in the window when players become a bit more desperate to secure playing time.
  4. I think we’d struggle to get him - West Ham and Saudi teams rumoured to be looking. He’d also command a hefty wage. Our best chance with Tammy would be if nothing happened with him and he’s at a loose end come deadline day - in which case a loan probably becomes viable.
  5. There’s a copyright issue - they can’t do the same thing as Adidas have done with housing the sensor inside the ball. Given it’s Puma supplying the balls from 2025 - it shouldn’t be a surprise Nike aren’t that bothered at looking for their own version.
  6. Given Everton move from Goodison at the end of this season - they’re pretty much nailed on for a squeaky bum end to the season!
  7. I think this notion misses one huge issue we had during that period - our income streams were never strong enough to sustain our top 6-8 position. You also have to consider clubs like Villa, Newcastle and West Ham - all with stronger income basis - were in a process of sorting out their years of serious mis-management and under funding whilst we were enjoying success. In a way we did really well to gain success from a core of a team that was initially built in the Championship and ride the evolution of what was an older squad into a new one with continued success for a few years after that.
  8. I’m sure you’ll sign one or two once Mendes has decided which of his selection of players he can get a juicy cut from. The problem I see for you guys and the associated mid-to-lower pack is the teams in that immediate group above will be hard to displace - and even if you do, there’s little glory in finishing 10th! And with PSR the way it is - there’s not much budgetary room to have a go in bridging that gap. That can in turn, lead to a bit of stagnation, maybe a bit of complacency and before you know it, you’re in a bit of a scrap at the wrong end of the table.
  9. This games got a 86th minute, Szmodics debut winning goal written all over it (via a deflection of course).
  10. Well which is it? 😠 Some of us are cheap and can’t be bothered battling with the many pops ups that come with watching a stream!
  11. Full time: (A trialist x2) 2 - 5 (Aluko, Evans x2, Omo, King) HMS pissing the under 18’s league here we come!
  12. Was there a cockerel that looked unfit, gormless, always with it’s mouth open, that looked like it was supposed to be leading the line but kept dropping back into midfield? (I have a hunch he’ll be back and playing in England by the end of the January window)
  13. 2-5 now - Josh King with a penalty and ‘A Trialist’ again for them.
  14. You’re slacking, there’s been another goal! 1-4 (A trialist)
  15. Their transfer business is something like £75 million net (i.e. profit) and the sounds coming from O’Neill is they still need to be careful with spending (no incomings since 1 July). Obviously @The Bear will know more - but they seem to be in a tight rope position similar to what we were in. https://www.molineux.news/news/frustrating-wolves-transfer-policy-is-confirmed-by-gary-oneil/
  16. Early kick-off at home; they could make today interesting, it’s easily the sort of game Liverpool labour despite having lots of the ball, Ipswich score at a key moment and then grimly hold on from there.
  17. Or Ric could do the “do you not know who I am” influencer thing!
  18. Nah, your eyes deceived you, those cockerels completely bottled it.
  19. There’s 6-8 teams in the division that have question marks over them. We’re competing against the likes of Fulham, Wolves, Bournemouth, Forest, Everton, Brentford, Southampton and Ipswich in our own little mini league.
  20. There is a big difference between financing a phoenix rising from non-league to doing that with a Championship/Premier League club. The competitive advantage you can get by simply having finances to play with at that lower level is huge.
  21. Everton have played Pickford… tonight 🤷🏻‍♂️
  22. The reports on Jakub are anything between 3-6 months aren’t they? I also imagine Iverson departs at some point this window - in which case Ward then becomes definite second choice. So maybe we do want to bring a keeper in?
  23. We’ve been linked with two young, highly regarded players from prominent clubs within their respective leagues - so naturally their representatives are going to put feelers out to establish the widest range of interest possible for their clients. Yes it’s frustrating not securing two players of this calibre and potential having shown firm interest in them - but at least we’re going for this type of player.
  24. From what I’ve read Sporting are very keen on Ioannidis - and would no doubt prove considerable competition to us signing him. They’ve also been linked with Victor Roque from Barcelona too however - possibly a case of one or the other for them.
  25. I’m sure Okoli was signed to address a perceived lack of pace at the back - he’s also a unit which helps when you come up against the likes of Haaland. Faes and Vestergaard may have faired alright against Championship strikers when we enjoyed 60-70% of the ball - but we’re going to be doing a lot more defending this year - so there’s some logic in signing a centrehalf of Okoli’s profile.
