We were. I think people forget. We didn't get "battered", as such, but some games were awful. Not that it matters now of course and Nige kept us up but we were bottom of the league in the first place..

Cambiasso probably did motivate players, he'd done it all in football (he's won more than us..), but this is no different to any other club. Every club has players that stand and be counted, motivating the others, but it doesn't take away from the manager.

The trouble is it works for some of our fanbase it seems.

Brighton were/are well run but that doesn't define the manager's success. They under performed this season for starters. If being a well run club made the manager's job easy then anyone could do it.

Which coincided with their highest points and goals in the "PL era". He improved Brighton every year. He especially improved them defensively. In Hughton's last season Brighton conceded 60 goals, and in Potter's last (full) season Brighton conceded 44. I've always seen Potter as a "builder" and people have been asking for one of them since Pearson left. I wouldn't say we are in a position to turn our noses up at Graham Potter. We need someone to keep us in the league, first and foremost, which I have no doubt Potter would do.

One decent season, behind closed doors, aside from that he never fulfilled or even looked like fulfilling his potential. Got to admit I was really excited when we signed him and I thought he would be a good signing for us. But over time here he proved to be one of the more frustrating players I've seen for us. At least we can now ditch all this "senior man" stuff.

Maguire isn't good enough for a top 6 club, lets be honest he has had an awful time overall at Manchester United, but he always performs for England. But our centre back options are lacking in quality. We once had Ferdinand, Terry and Campbell to pick from.
