  1. My perspective… ”top” managers don’t want relegation, the most goals conceded by x date etc On their CV. I highly doubt he is taking us down willingly, though of course we are shit right now. pocketing millions? Blame the board for sanctioning huge wages and buy out clauses, Rodgers has absolutely every right whether we like it or not to stick around. So stop blaming him for pocketing millions. yes the way he has come across in Interviews is galling, but in the heat of the moment when a microphone is thrust in front of us, we sOmetimes say the wrong or stupid things. This doesn’t merit support from us, but I don’t take it as overly offensive as many people n here. The last sentence with all respects just makes you look a T***, violence should never be merited, particularly over a dislike for an individual.
  2. I absolutely agree, all the signs have been there, including the capitulations we have experienced. I am very much Rodgers out and have been for a long time, but I do not feel the need to scoop so low as many of our fans seem to think it’s okay to do. Some of the comments in this thread reek of entitlement, disgust and in general vile behaviour. Not that I am surprised as it’s seen most weeks at both home and away games.
  3. Even taking the first 3 awful goals to concede out of the equation, yet again we witness another capitulation.
  4. Yes pisses me off immensely.
  5. Maybe controversial but my take….. He has won the two biggest trophies in English football, the golden boot, played and scored for England, achieved things beyond his wildest dreams. alongside this age does slow us now, plus the natural maturation process of not taking life quite so seriously. As such I feel he isn’t as driven or hungry as before, his contract means he is secure for however long (2024 isn’t it)? I also think he requires a lot more now to get going, rather then being that intense pest at the beginning of games.
  6. Depends I guess on what we believe is genuine in regards to pay offs. So many different figures being thrown around. I’m just keeping fingers crossed he goes
  7. No one argues FFP, more Rodgers getting sacked. Don’t see how keeping him then likely relegation is better then a pay off.
  8. You come across like you are some kind of ITK, or course you could be right. but 3 more “established” ITK’s have said that Rodgers will be gone by villa game. So let’s see
  9. Please please please be true
  10. I keep reading posters saying we should have spent over this window, my Question is with what? Particularly as no one wants our deadwood, and from the programme notes tonight we need to comply with FFP. Am I missing something?
  11. Brilliantly written and 100% agree
  12. Seriously? 😁 He is under contract, the same contract that protects us had another team came in when he was actually performing. He is well within his rights to not resign. Trying to get the sack? This is professional football, where careers are based off success. As if he would try to get the sack, putting off future suitors.
  13. We all have our own views, perspectives and experiences regarding mental health and what we feel constitutes to that. If someone feels their mental well-being is being impacted by a football result and leading then to depression then it’s very real for them. The reality in that particular example (I agree with Highpeakfox) then they should look for alternative ways to find positivity. I am aware that just finding alternative positives, doesn’t solve deep rooted issues that could be aggravated by football. But it’s a step (albeit small) in the right direction.
  14. Yes it was a genuine question Asked in haste at the time, as I don’t feel lots of players want out Fofana exception. We will have to disagree on Youri performances lacking effort. Quality yes, lots more mistakes yes, but I don’t feel that his heart isn’t in it or he isn’t trying. He is one of the few players that tries to get the crowd going. As you mention vards in the same sentence as Kasper, I think they were loyal to Vichai (maybe Top) but not Leicester per se. I said in another thread, Vards strikes me now as being someone who has achieved more then expected and very much going through the motions (I’m not saying he is crap or lacking effort) just that he is that he has eyes 👀 n his future beyond football, for it to not mean as much. Cags, No I wasn’t suggesting he should be a bench player, more that he is. He should be playing alongside Johnny. That said he has been poor at times last season, that He merited dropping in my opinion. Why he has still been benched None of us know, but if rumours of an attitude thing, then who do we blame? Kele I agree, and I think he should be starting with two upfront as playing as alone striker he lacked the IQ and speed to break behind the lines.
  15. Wanting to leave doesn’t mean deliberate self sabotage of own performances, I struggle to see the link. Besides your attributing players wanting to leave with discord within. I am no Brendan fan, I want him gone, but my own perspectives…. obv Fofana the exception who has downed tools, so I get that. The others you mention… Youri: If you believe other reports loves Charnwood, family settled. But waiting to see how we do/if a better offer comes in. Come on who wouldn’t do this? He gives 100% on the pitch (see my first point) and what’s right win things. Schmeichel (again if you believe reports) always wanted to finish his career playing abroad. Could this have been his best chance? This opting to take it. soumare: Was this not “homesickness” or so was mentioned? Cags: If he does want to leave, then who can blame a bench player. If he indeed refused a contract (not doubting) then again until we know his reasoning is it fair to label players? my point being wanting to leave (if true) doesn’t mean players play crap, they want to appeal to clubs not put off. Plus their reasons for leaving can go way beyond simply not being picked or issues with the manager.
  16. Bottle/desire? In every game I attend (all homes and a number of aways) I don’t see lack of effort or desire. Yesterday we kept going until the very end, but it just wasn’t good enough. I would love to hear your evidence to back the desire/bottle up? who wants to leave other then the snake Fofana? Youri? He hasn’t signed a new contract, why does that instantly mean he wants to leave now/this season? Besides using him As an example, in every game and pre game he makes a point of engaging with the fans and always gives 100% (admittedly lots of mistakes currently)
  17. I find it odd too… Singing the Amartay/party song (whatever it’s called) I think is sang as it’s catchy and unoriginal, not necessarily because most believe he is good. It just makes him believe the fans love him.
  18. Some including myself would ask what kind of training is occurring to get all these injuries. injuries don’t just happen, obv impact injuries are hard to avoid in competitive contact sport. Training methods, sports scientist, biomechanics team and possible the manager all have a part to play.
  19. The point about mercenaries is an interesting one that I thought about doing a topic on, but not sure if explain my point to well. These players are trying, I’ve mentioned this in other threads. There is no hiding on a football pitch. But……. I don’t feel they are as invested in the club or an identity as we the fans would like. Exception I think is KDH right now, possibly madders and JJ. I remember 2 seasons ago in a post Match interview madders saying “We are Leicester city and we should be beating these teams or words to that effect” that’s the attitude and spirit we need. Not arrogance but that belief we should be competing in and around the top 4-6 Vards as an example, has achieved things beyond his wildest dreams. Has been given a new contract, has the crowd chanting and cheering his name. But at home & away games (upon arrival) I don’t see no interaction with his own fans like he used too, though he was more then happy having pics with Chelsea fans yesterday. When he retires I think he will easily be able to disconnect from LCFC and move on. It’s like (though yes he doesn’t like losing) he’s at the point of enjoying playing more then the actual result if that makes sense. edit; I am not bashing Vards he’s a legend! just feels like he and others are not so invested in the club, fans, identity or whatever it is I’m trying to make the point over.
  20. I’m sorry but no fight? That’s bollox! The players are hurting, they don’t like losing, being pretty much bottom will be stinging. Honestly I don’t question their effort or desire. Leadership, intelligence, confidence, awareness or simply not good enough I think are all up for debate.
  21. No lower shed
  22. Did you miss “IMHO” aka In my honest opinion, hence it’s an opinion
  23. Amongst some small groups, but nothing loud or directed at him specifically
  24. I agree…. Yet madders and others don’t have the same cult following or own chants. great guy but simply not good enough
  25. Changed Maguire to Fofana, on the Soyuncu song. chillwell got lots of stick, which I thought at times was embarrassing seeing grown men with children showing so much vitriol.
