Champions League Thread 2023/2024
BlueSi13 replied to SecretPro's topic in General Football and Sport
Yea a real off year for the English clubs. The Premier League is still miles ahead in the UEFA coefficient but this is definitely a surprise. -
Yup, absolutely no chance we could have a picked up the tempo just a little? Maybe made some tactical changes? Nothing at all we could have done right?
-
Right I'm just going to say it. I don't really care about the results anymore, I just want to be entertained when I'm watching us play football. I don't care with if we are playing Maidstone or Manchester City. I'll follow the club to my last day. But I want to be entertained. Why would I want to watch something that puts me to sleep win, lose or draw?
-
Looks to be yet another manager who CANNOT turn us around when we are slumping. Bizarre.
-
Seriously though, none of the Wales players look bothered, what's that all about?
-
They don't look that upset really.
-
Think these 2 matches proved Kane is Englands most important player by a million miles.
-
Southgate was pitching a tent when that went in. The media will be telling us that was a masterful performance.
-
A Belgium team that's never won in England. As soon as they become half decent they beat us. Comfortably.
-
Once again, the Brendan Rodgers school of football management. Don't be mean and sub someone off early. Might hurt their feelings.
-
The difference is that this team is MILES clear of anything we've had for the last 20 years. The whole of Europe sees it. This isn't a case of hyping ourselves up. But despite the abundance of talent we are still honking.
-
4 wins out of 27 against the top 10 if we don't win this tonight. Astonishing.
-
Whatever coaching courses the FA are providing, it has to stop. Now. Same ****ing courses Brendan Rodgers went on. Pass pass pass pass, all in front of the opposition. Slow, turgid, relying on the opposition to fall asleep before we can create a chance. Look at Belgium and Brazil the other night, within 3 passes they are at the edge of our box and we are shitting ourselves. Sack him tonight. Literally the entire country can see what's going to happen. With the talent pool we have it's an utter disgrace.

Whether he's chasing or being chased he's a bit of a bomb scare. Loss of concentration. Regarding Hamilton it's giving me Ricciardo 2018 vibes. He'd just beaten Verstappen in 2017, was beating him again in 2018 but after he announced he was leaving for Renault in 2019 everything started going wrong with outright speed and reliability. He finished 3rd only behind the Red Bulls just 3 months ago. He hasn't declined to this extent in such a short space of time. As for Verstappen at least the dreaded 100% for the season is now out of the window. No doubt it will be back to normal next race

25 games against top 10 opposition. 4 wins. Criminal.
-
100% The minutes applause at the start made me think about what El Tel would have done with this bunch of players.
-
We know. You always find the time to tell us every time they play.
-
Friendly or not. A standard Southgate defeat against a Top 10 nation. Doesn't matter who we or the opposition fields. It's an automatic loss or a scrappy draw. It's an absolutely catastrophic record. One of the most bizarre in pro sports.

Leicester 'could face points deduction next season'
BlueSi13 replied to ClaphamFox's topic in Leicester City Forum
Slightly off topic but this isn't spoken about enough. The decline of Sky Sports has been spectacular. Extremely poor quality and low budgets across the board (whilst they ramp up the prices to customers every year). As the primary rights holder to professional football in this country their influence is absolutely huge and I almost hold them primarily responsible for the slow death of the sport. -
Against the reigning Heavyweight Champion of the World, who many people (including former/current world champions) think lost the fight. Usyk has Joshua's numbers on a technical level for sure. However that was mightily impressive tonight.
-
AJ is entering his villain arc. Menacing. Maybe some people need to accept UFC and Boxing are two completely different sports. Would have thought people would have realised that when YouTubers were knocking out former UFC champions.
-
Somebody tell Michael Buffer that Watford is not in London.
-
Bloody hell it's past 3am there. Why are they even bothering?
-
Some fat bloke in the front row was on his phone for most of the fight. Shitshow. All we need now is Ngannou to spark out AJ and we can stick a fork in the sport of Boxing.

It's also running well over an hour late FFS. No idea why Saudi Arabia pays for these events when it's clear nobody gives a ****.
