Ryan One (20yo Sheff Utd forward. Rumoured interest. Not close to deal.)

England vs Argentina - Weds 15th July - 20.00 (BST)

Whilst i agree generally about the squads level, this was absolutely a winnable game in isolation. We've got Saka and Rashford getting splinters where good but not spectacular players like De Paul and Nico Gonzalez are changing the game for Argentina. It was an incredibly poorly coached game by a coach who was hired to get through games like that. -

Southgate would have been crucified for that. Absolutely ridiculous to concede the initiative to that degree for 35 minutes whilst having no counter attacking threat. If thats how its going to be, Tuchel should fall on his sword. -
Rodri and Fabian Ruiz are absolutely dogwalking the French midfield

Argentina have been the benificaries of dubious decisions, that isn't one of them. Ridiculous by Embolo.

Possibly the most overhit corner ive ever seen there from Evans

What has Monga shown so far that would have him above other young English talents like Dowman and Rio?
-
Up to 36th in the live rankings. So guaranteed entry into all the top tournaments pretty much, with next to nothing to defend. So at the very least he's going to have a year playing all the big tournaments.

We had fans saying El Khannouss was crap, when anyone with half a brain could see the talent even in a dysfunctional side. He's now playing top 6 Bundesliga and in a World Cup quarter final for a very decent side. Nelson has the attributes to be a very good player. He didn't show it enough here, and that is partly his fault, but also the club being a basket case is no place for a youngster to come in and try and establish themselves. Assuming injuries don't derail him, I'd expect his career to go from strength to strength now.
-
Can't blame Nelson at all for wanting to move on. He absolutely did not live up to the hype when he played, but he clearly has some really decent attributes and it took far far too long for him to be given his chance. Losing players like Nelson now is an indictment on the club, not on the individual player.

I don't think anyone of sane mind is contesting the red card, rather, why has an extra game been added to the suspension.
-
I think its absolutely fine to jump on the conspiracy horse at this point. At best it's FIFA just trolling.
-
Plenty of examples of young players who've not broken through at Man City but have then gone onto have success at really decent clubs. Even if it doesn't work out for him there, at least he has a known pathway as long as he performs at youth level.

Konsa is having an absolute nightmare.

Tbf that gets given as a free kick most of the time elsewhere on the pitch

Ancelotti has had a mare bringing Neymar on.

Norway coach deserves big credit too. The substitution of both wingers at half time was a big call but Schelderup especially has had a big impact.
-
With Russell's relative lack of pace and Verstappen being at his wits end with Red Bull, can see Mercedes ramping up efforts to convince him to join.

Wife is Mexican so going to be interesting in our house later. At least the kids win either way!

This is the most incompetent refereeing performance ive seen for a while

People lamenting Foden not being there are having a laugh surely? Or failed to notice the number of good games he has had for England can be counted on the fingers of 1 hand.
-
Maresca has released his own statement effectively corroborating this. He comes out looking very bad imo. I know we all (mostly) wanted him to stay, but this just confirms he'd have been immediately agitating for the exit as soon as a better opportunity came along.

Group L: England, Croatia, Ghana, Panama

Very unconvincing. Back 4 all at sea, wingers mostly flattering to deceive and very little creativity. Relying on big players to come up with moments. A lot riding on Rice and Anderson being able to disrupt the better sides i think. -

Reece James out for at least 2 games. So the 2 injury prone right backs Tuchel picked have both got injured.
