https://sportwitness.co.uk/i-was-close-to-leicester-city-player-reveals-he-wanted-to-leave-brighton-for-foxes/ “I was close to Leicester City” – Player reveals he wanted to leave Brighton for Foxes By Naveen Ullal - 19th March 2025 Jakub Moder claims Leicester City wanted him last summer when he was still at Brighton & Hove Albion. The Poland international left the Seagulls for Feyenoord in the winter market in search of regular game time that he didn’t enjoy at Brighton. Moder had a chat with Foot Truck, where he revealed that Leicester showed interest in him last summer, and Meczyki.pl have relayed his comments. The midfielder suffered a serious knee injury in April 2022 and was out of action for more than 570 days. He wasn’t able to feature regularly at Brighton under Roberto De Zerbi and was keen on leaving them for Leicester City. Moder has revealed he was close to joining the Foxes, but the operation didn’t go through for multiple reasons. “I wanted to leave Brighton earlier. Last summer, I was very close to Leicester City, but many things happened that the transfer didn’t work out, the transfer domino had to go, and I also had an injury,” he said. “So, I wanted to leave in the summer, because I had a feeling what role awaited me at Brighton in the next six months. I would probably be at Leicester now, but would it be better? We don’t know. Now I’m at Feyenoord and it’s great.” Moder played nine minutes from four Premier League games under Fabian Hürzeler at Brighton. This didn’t stop the 25-year-old from attracting interest from Udinese and VfB Stuttgart before picking Feyenoord in January. The Pole now claims he held talks with Udinese manager Kosta Runjaić and his assistant, Przemyslaw Malecki. He ended up moving to the Eredivisie club and claims it was the best choice for him. “I considered Udinese. I spoke with Runjaić and Małecki. I was at a point in my career where I couldn’t close myself off to such a move,” Moder explained. “This is a club from Serie A, they are playing very good football this season, so I was definitely considering it. Ultimately, however, the Feyenoord project was the best for me. I was very excited that they wanted me. It was the best decision.”

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cd65px9461do Severn Estuary lagoon offers 'rare' opportunity A tidal lagoon should be created in the Severn Estuary to generate electricity, according to a report. The Severn Estuary Commission, external rejected proposals for a large barrage spanning the Severn. Instead, it said the UK and Welsh governments should back plans for a smaller project to harness the power of the tide on the England-Wales border. The commission said a tidal lagoon demonstration project – the first in the world – would boost the economy and provide a better understanding of tidal power.

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/sport/football/match-reports/two-crowd-moments-sum-up-10029829 By Jordan Blackwell Line-up make-up exposes transfer disaster With the majority of fans now accepting City’s fate, the blame game will start. Such a terrible run of form usually sees the manager targeted, but there has still not been a great deal of heat towards van Nistelrooy in the stands. The players, too, still receive rounds of applause. But both the manager and the squad have to take their share of culpability for City’s predicament. The players have performed in such a way for many of their matches that they’ve been accused of lacking fight and care for the club’s situation. When players produce those kinds of performances, it’s on the manager for failing to draw better, more organised, more committed displays from them. But ultimately, the focus will be on the hierarchy and the running of the club, the people who appoint the managers and who build the squad. The make-up of City’s 11 on Sunday was revealing. Just three of the City 11 have been signed by the club since the summer of 2023: Coady, Mads Hermansen and Bilal El Khannouss. Eight of the 11 were in the first-team squad for relegation two years ago. Of the 16 Premier League teams who played over the weekend, City started the fewest number of signings from the past two years. Brentford also fielded three, but the other 14 clubs all had more at average of just under six new players. It’s a terrible look for City. They’re the team that have been relegated out of the division. They’re the team that’s been in most need of a squad refresh, and yet their team is the most similar to how it was two years ago. Since the summer of 2023, City have made 13 permanent signings. They have another two players on loan at the club this season. Just three of those 15 were deemed good enough to start by van Nistelrooy on Sunday. That’s a failure of recruitment and a failure of joined-up thinking. It’s maybe the biggest reason City are in this mess.

City have now had 75 shots at home, with 23 on target, since they last stuck one away.

Not Leicester but rather revealing re the state of English football. Eddie Howe is the first ENGLISH manager to win a major trophy since 2008 He did it by delivering Newcastle United’s first domestic trophy since 1955 Plus Trippier’s the 65th player to leave spurs after 2008 and win a trophy
