  1. Cooper vs RVN debate is irrelevant because the manager can only do so much with the current systemic problems at the club, and also who would you rather have building between now and possible promotion push next season, Cooper or Ruud?
  2. The club can talk all it wants about PSR hampering our ambition or ability to compete, but it's not forcing us to make dud after dud signings, on big money and wages, that often don't meet the priorities at the time and sometimes fall out of favour almost immediately. All these players we signed and then almost instantly were deemed not good enough or barely played: And when we only had Faes (bombscare) Coady (not good enough) Vestergaard (not suited to a relegation battle when you have to defend a lot) as CBs and only Ricardo (made of glass) and Justin (also injury prone) as RBs why did we sign only Okoli in defence and waste money on Skipp?
  3. 40 points is a misnomer anyhow. 17th place finishes over every single 20 team PL season: High: 44pts Average: 37.8pts Low: 32 Required to stay up (i.e 18th place +1 point): High: 43 Average: 35.8 Low: 27
  4. There was only 27 points required to stay up last season...
  5. There's just so much football yet to play. It's easy to look at fixture lists without any context of form/injuries etc that will apply at the actual time, and think 'where are the wins coming from'? But did anyone expect Ipswich to beat Spurs? to beat Chelsea? For Wolves to beat Man Utd? We haven't really had an 'unexpected' win yet. And sure maybe we won't but, but maybe it's just happening later on in the season for us.
  6. Well, luckily we've already got 3 of them...
  7. That would be terrible, no? Breach the rules, gain a sporting advantage that you ‘shouldn’t’ have and stay up/get Europe and then only get punished after the fact when you’ve already gained from the ‘cheating?’
  8. So we just spent the last week saying any journalist speculating was just guessing? and now we get one tweet from Percy and treat it as gospel?
  9. Further to all of this a "season" is defined as: So I'd argue we can say that: £22m reduction only applies to T-1 and T-2, not T We were not a PL team by the time the accounting period for T-1 ended - hence our successful appeal But that doesn't mean the PL can reduce our allowable losses for T-1 by £22m, because during the season of T-1 we were a PL team
  10. T = last season (EFL team) T-1 = relegation season T-2 = finished 8th You're right though I suppose - our previous appeal was about T-1 wasn't it. I.e we were relegated and transferred our PL share before the end of the accounting period. This very much muddies the waters!
  11. As per our successful appeal to the PL's previous charge, we successfully argued we were a EFL team (which I think you're alluding to?). But as per the rules above, the debate isn't really about whether or not we were officially a PL or EFL club at the end of the previous accounting period. It's about which years the EFL reduction apply to or not. The rules cleary say they apply to years 2 and 3 of each rolling period, not to year 1.
  12. Not particularly? We had to submit by 31/12/24. The PL has to respond within 14 days. That's the 14/01/25 So unless it's kept in-house for a while, we'll find out tomorrow/this week?
  13. The PL handbook is here: https://resources.premierleague.pulselive.com/premierleague/document/2024/12/11/e9aa1b9e-a7d5-4788-8afe-6e07b8a5f5fc/TM1603-PL_Handbook-and-Collateral-2024-25_11.12_DIGITAL.pdf Page 99 Page 103 Page 135 So for this period which we're currently reporting on: T = year ending June 30th 2024 T-1 = year ending May 30th 2023 T-2 = year ending May 30th 2022 We were only in the Football League for "T" not "T-1" - doesn't Rule E.54 plainly state that the £22m reduction for allowable losses will not apply? EDIT: I think the above clearly shows that last season (T) won't be reduced by £22m (even though we were part of The Football League). But as @filbertway rightly points out, our previous appeal hinged on us successfully arguing that by the end of the accounting period for the relegation season (T-1) we were part of The Football League, not the Premier League. Therefore, surely, our allowable losses will be reduced by £22m? (Unless 'for each season covered by T-1...in which the Club was in membership of The Football League" is contestable. Because that season wasn't covered by us being an EFL team. It was only a small portion of it?)
  14. At least one year it hovered and spun on the spot so the guy could wave to the whole stadium. Crazy really.
  15. First image is AI anyhow
  16. Isn't part of the issue that even if the club thinks it's passed, it doesn't really matter, because the whole system is so interpretive and so if the PL thinks we've breached, then that's what matters. And we won't know that until next week?
  17. Crazy if true - they're grinding out results!
  18. So everyone saying ‘terrible lineup’ they just mean Ayew over Buononotte, right? Because I’m not sure how else it could be particularly different?
  19. Do we know if Vardy was offside when put through and fouled by Ortega? Was Buononotte tripped in the box?
  20. Forest only needed 27 points to stay up last season. The lowest ever. The last 10 years required to stay up: Low: 27 average: 34 High: 38
  21. Across every twenty team PL season, the number of wins for teams finishing 17th: Low: 6 Average: 9.1 High: 11 Given how poor the bottom 4-5 are, I’d wager the team finishing 17th will require 7-9 wins The ‘18th place +1 point average’ is 35.8 points
  22. I’ve never ever left early. I almost left today at HT. Did leave at 65 mins.
  23. On the other hand, remaining unbeaten in all the bottom 6 fixtures so far put us in a better position than most of them.
