  1. Obviously it goes without saying that without wins/results that get us safe, it's a moot discussion as to whether Rowett is better/worse than Cifuentes. Personally, from what I've seen we're playing 'better' but ultimately whether it's a platform or not to get the wins we need in this final stretch (obviously) remains to be seen. Let's not also discount just how shite our squad is and how poor the application of the players is...
  2. Well you say on any metric but only list 4. I don't have the hard data to back it up, but most people's 'eye test' is that we look quite a bit more organised, especially defensively, under Rowett, more clean sheets and appear to be running more/showing a bit more application.
  3. He could be a model pro, but he could equally just be happy with the stupid contract that he knows he wouldn't get anywhere else.
  4. I agree. Maresca is by far the best manager we've had since the best bits under Rodgers. Even though you caveated for this - Maresca did have a significantly better squad at his disposal. Hermansen, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin, Ricky P enjoying his inverted role, Ndidi, a fully motivated Winks, KDH in fine form, McAteer making an unexpected contribution (especially early in the season), Mavidid and Fatawu on fire, Vardy rolling back the years, Daka making a decent contribution and Iheanacho chipping in too. Nevermind reasonable rotation options in Yunus, Casadei, Albrighton, Choudhury
  5. I think you have to go back to the Maresca season to find a game that 1) we deserved to win and/or 2) was the result of our pattern of play/structure/tactics rather than individual quality. Of course, there's nothing wrong with individual quality and it's a good thing to have players who can score worldies/create something out of nothing - but the issue is it's not sustainable/reliable
  6. Looks like he's been without a club for 18 months...and he's only 31
  7. Come again?
  8. They're very rudimentary projections. They're not predictive and only based on what's happened to date (on 3 different timelines). They just give a general idea, nothing more. Because for them to be prophetic 6 teams need to all maintain the same form - which itself seems unlikely. @LCFCJohn as I say, it being 'tight' is the only thing in our favour since, a tiny swing here or there could be enough for safety. The real wildcards at the moment are: 1) The outstanding appeal (will the deduction go up, down or stay the same; will the timing of it help/hinder?); 2) Oxford's form which 'feels' unsustainable and; 3) Portsmouth's game in hand
  9. Yeah I guess, EFL and PL tried recently to more closely realign their PSR rules, but if PL is now moving to squad cost ratios, I don't know where that leaves EFL/Championship
  10. Aren't PL PSR rules changing next season anyway? https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/mar/19/premier-league-spending-rules-squad-cost-ratio#:~:text=Under squad cost ratio (SCR,the event of a breach.
  11. Projections Run In The only thing going for us really is that it's still tight (i.e 1-4 points between LCFC and safety), Portsmouth's form nose diving and Oxford's potentially being unsustainable.

  13. Not sure we'll be able to do this completely freely though - as in the event of promotion (if falling within relevant 3 year rolling period) you're beholden to the profit/loss rules of PSR. Top and Rudkin haven't been able to adhere to one set of rules - I have little faith in their ability to comply with L1 rules whilst simultaneously having one eye on compliance with PSR when/if promoted...
  14. Yeah because they have more points at this moment in time
  15. I'll gladly update it if you can point out where Bristol Rovers are in the Championship table
  16. An update - we're now in the bottom 3 in each different projection

  19. People seem to have a tantrum at every lineup announcement, as if Rowett is meant to unearth some players we’ve never heard of. “Ugh, Choudhury” yeah well it’s either that or Ricardo whose legs have gone. “Ayew again” yep he’s crap. But so is Daka
  20. Seriously though what did Daka actually do when he came on?
  21. Late Bristol equaliser could be weirdly good for us? Millwall at home vs Blackburn with a chance to go 2nd?
  22. Yeah I was at the Bristol game. Thought Ayew was better than Daka. Don’t remember Daka contributing anything of note. Ayew better suited to a home game where the opposition aren’t going to leave space. Daka and Ayew are both crap and they both ruin out attacks: Ayew by having no legs and rarely being in the box; Daka by having no touch or positional sense. And obviously Rowett is not going to trust some unknown youth product over Ayew, so…
