  1. But Double Jeopardy rule for DOGSO doesn't make a player invulnerable to a red for a dangerous tackle. DOGSO situation: Foul outside the box, attempting to play the ball or not attempting to play the ball = Red card Foul inside the box, attempting to play the ball = Yellow card Foul inside the box, not attempting to play the ball = Red card Foul inside the box that is dangerous play = Red card
  2. Before the red he played in games he wouldn't have if he had gone to AFCON so...
  3. Any side that goes 19 games unbeaten and is 'only' 10 points behind should be concerning. They've also scored a lot recently and suddenly only 5 goals behind us in goals scored and had a few 4 and 5 goal wins recently. However, despite that 19 game unbeaten run they took 45 points to our 44 (despite our 3 losses) in that time. They'll need to take 11 more points than us over the next 19 games to over take us.
  4. What's clear is that the system is a little broken. The £105m allowable losses is out of date. How can that figure have stayed the same for so long? It doesn't seem to have accounted for general inflation, rising costs across all streams for clubs, and rising wages and transfer fees. £35m losses per season really isn't much breathing room for much of the PL's Other14 clubs - that's just a couple of signings 'gone wrong' The PL is right to fast track the process, so that everything must be reported by 31st Dec and resolved by the 30th June (the PL season is 'officially' over on this date as the club's certifications change, so promotions and relegations are enacted) This is especially pertinent after the issue of Everton getting a deduction this season for a transgression last season The 3 year reporting period disproportionally strangles promoted sides, and particularly those that aren't yo-yoing between the PL and Championship Forest for example are struggling purely because 2 out of their last 3 years have been in the Championship (less income) vs, say Fulham who have had 1 out of 3 years in the Championship. These new rules are really going to make it really difficult for non-yo-yo clubs to come up and stay up
  5. The difference is The scale and nature of Man City's breaches A lot of them date back to 2009 - when totally different set of rules applied - not the current PL's Profit and Sustainability Rules Man City actively didn't cooperate and didn't provide information and documentation that they should have / tried to frustrate the process Everton and Forest (and probably most other clubs) appear to have been completely transparent and cooperative
  6. We lose (against Coventry no less) and everyone else wins and it's bound to make some people a bit nervous. But, by virtue of our big(ish) leads over rivals, it hasn't really changed the overall situation much. Southampton could be classed as a 'worry' purely because of their run. But it only matters if Ipswich or Leeds join them, since we can finish 2nd and still go up. Looks like 92-96 points will do the trick. We can drop off a fair bit and still achieve that, whilst the other 3 will need to achieve and sustain over 2 points per game from here on out. EDIT: More thoughts. If the target is say, 95 points, out of the 57 points available that's the following needed: Leicester 30 Ipswich 37 Southampton 40 Leeds 44 I don't see Leeds taking 15 points more than us in the final part of the season. Even Southampton, on the back of 19 games unbeaten, they took 45 points in that time, compared to our 44 points (including 3 losses for us!)
  7. Wonder what this is a reference to? Also, statement wins - winning from losing position with not long left vs Cov on opening day? 4-1 battering of Southampton away?
  8. Is it really realistic for the PL to have assessed, analysed and formulate (potential) subsequent charges between 31st Dec and 14th Jan? For all 20 clubs?
  9. Leicester were demonstrably better, but I wouldn't call 4 points 'so many points dropped'
  10. If only a self styled 'statistics' account could find a way of objectively measuring which team was better in December or not...
  11. Must be pretty demoralising to be a Southampton player. They just put together an amazing run of 18 games unbeaten, taking 42 points. Only problem is, Leicester took 44 points in the same run of games, despite losing twice and Southampton find themselves 13 points behind...
  12. Looks like Ndidi has had some sort of surgery/operation if his IG story is anything to go by
  13. Also 'made' by Sunderland, Wolves, Villa, Everton and Sheffield Wednesday fans by that logic...
  14. But it was Ward who spent 5 years warming the bench at Leicester, happy to rarely play, clearly didn’t develop in that time and then was woefully, disastrously unprepared and unable to make the step up to No.1 when finally called upon…
  15. Ward was/is trash. But the pic clearly shows the shot happening between the 6 yard box and penalty spot (12 yards)
  16. And top for 2nd division titles
  17. Don't think Thomas will be anywhere close to playing for us under Maresca
  18. Reminds me of the end of the Brentford game at the start of last season. I was walking down the stand in H1 when I realised I was next to BBC commentator Guy Mowbray - he asked us what we made of that and we tried to be philosophical despite the disappointment. Mowbray said "I tell you what though, Jonny Evans - he's no leader is he?" Quite prophetic...
  19. Sounds like we agree then and that it's the industry standard? The vast majority of managers (whether decent or not) come from a long line of previous sackings?
  20. 'This manager has been sacked 8 times and keeps getting jobs' isn't much of a stick to beat someone with when that's the industry standard My point is, the vast majority of managers change clubs when/after they've been sacked by their previous club. Mutual termination, the end of a contract or being poached by other clubs is surely the minority? Heck, I just checked Ancelotti's managerial career - 11 club jobs: Reggiana - Poached Parma - Sacked Juventus - Sacked AC Milan - Mutual termination 1 year early Chelsea - Sacked PSG - Resigned Real Madrid - Sacked Munich - Sacked Napoli - Sacked Everton - Poached Real Madrid - current job
  21. I mean 99% of managers have been sacked in previous posts...?
  22. I’d have to find the source but pretty sure this isn’t correct at all. He was one of the first players with public comments after Relegation and immediately said he was well up for the Championship and the fight to get promotion. It was only after Maresca arrived and preseason started that he wanted out - and only because Maresca was honest and said ‘I’m not going to play with fullbacks’. Kristiansen was told he was good enough to play LCB but he personally didn’t want to play that position and wanted to keep developing as a LB. Hence the move.
  23. Somehow I had totally forgotten that Somare existed / was under contract here.
  24. His passes have only led to one goal conceded all season I think? Vs Blackburn when he passed out to Winks. His passing otherwise has led to more than one goal scored and is a big contribution to how we play. The benefits far outweigh the costs. Also your last sentence betrays the idea that you're more concerned with your 'comfort' as a watching fan than what's actually happening in reality on the pitch and across the season.
  25. Presuming he doesn't re-sign with us for a last hurrah in the Prem, I'm not sure we'll see much more of him Only 20 games left, unspecified injury, Daka/Cannon ahead of him?
