  1. He was good before that too
  2. Ayew played well before Daka came on, combining effectively with Winks from the 1st minute of the second half. Yes he might operate in a different way to a traditional centre forward we are used to at Leicester. He’s going to come deeper and hold the ball up rather than running away from the last line of defence. As for your strawman, ad hominem, whataboutery comnent - Maybe it is some of that but what’s wrong with that? Why can’t I point out contradictions or a bias? I’m merely pointing out that you have been very quick to criticise one but were a staunch defender of another striker. You use stats to back up your argument for Daka, I’d be interested in the stats you use to back up your criticism of Ayew. In his last two games he’s scored a goal, has numerous shots on target and created opportunities for others (and that’s before Daka entered the pitch.)
  3. It’s nothing to do with funding anyone. If he has a release clause and it’s correctly activated by a buying club there’s absolutely nothing we can do! As I’ve said earlier, having a release clause has to be a factor in why ELK would’ve signed for us last season and why he agreed specifics in his contract. We know this as otherwise there wouldn’t have been a release clause - It wasn’t just put in for banter. This is exactly what happened to Kante and it was the only way we were getting him too when he signed for us.
  4. Technically we have one. The alternative option in Daka is already there. I’d expect Cifuentes to continue rotate between the two or play them both together assuming PSR is preventing any transfers this window.
  5. This the same Finnegan that thinks Daka is an absolute baller? Let me start by saying I am by no means an Ayew fanboy but I appreciate that at this level he has the potential to be very effective. Ayew was excellent as the central point of attack yesterday. Yes he played it in a very different way to Vardy and Daka and yes he’s not going to be prolific as a goalscorer but he performed a central role well, linked up well with Winks and the wingers and had a number of shots on goal. BTW I watched the match at the KP. I’m a season ticket holder that also goes to a lot of away matches and has full access to every game on tv too, I just have a different (equally valid) opinion to you!
  6. I thought Ayew was one of our better players in the first half when we weren’t great and got even better when Winks added creative support that had previously been entirely down to closely marked Mavididi and Fatawu. This was well before Daka came on.
  7. Ayew was excellent in the number 9 role yesterday??
  8. A release clause was possibly the only way ELK would’ve come to us last season, particularly as it happened after Maresca jumped ship. If someone triggers a release clause correctly there’s not much we can do other than hope he chooses to stay. In the short term it might give Page and Alves more opportunities. I have to say I’m surprised Newcastle would be interested, don’t really see his position as a priority for them, particularly with their lack of strikers.
  9. It was the crowd shouting WOUTTT not booing. It was around me in H1 anyway.
  10. This is exactly what it was. I think it even confused Faes who was pissed off when he scored. Personally if no one is in for him, I think he’s very good in The Championship despite his flaws.
  11. Winks is outstanding in The Championship. He completely changed the game today. He should stay and start. I agree that the other two are not good enough. Soumare has all the attributes but his application is shockingly bad, Skipp is bang average in every aspect and is better suited to League 1 or 2. Time for Louis Page to stake a claim.
  12. Noticeable silence from Kingfox on Skippy this afternoon. The difference between him and Winks is massive. There’s an absolute gulf between the two in terms of creativity and quality and I’ll reiterate that I see no major energy from Skipp. Hopefully Cifuentes will now stick with Winks and find an alternative to Bouba too.
  13. He can be a bit clickbaity anti LCFC sometimes like in this instance which is strange if he’s a fan.
  14. If I was a blades fan I’d worry a bit about their manager a bit. Not sure he’ll be better than Wilder was
  15. Loads were being robbed by people who don’t usually go to games after the fiorentina match. Saw one old guy with about 3 under his arms. I think he genuinely thought they were free to take.😂
  16. Genuinely don’t think there’s that much between Stolarcyck and Mads. Mads might be a slightly better shot stopper but Jakob is better coming for corners and crosses. Mads is great with his feet but that’s mainly short range passing, he’s not particularly a pinger like Pickford, more a confident pivot that just keeps the ball moving. His pivot play is a luxury that a struggling premier league club probably won’t maximise use of. That might be a fair description of WHAM this year tbh.
  17. Hutchinson is expected to leave the club.
  18. With his arm up there and the ref having given it, VAR would not have overturned it. It would’ve still been a pen.
  19. Encroachment only relevant if Young had an impact on the penalty scored (scored or involved in a rebound goal or impacted a defender potentially reaching a rebound.)
  20. Watching the Brum Ipswich match I just don’t see why we kept hold of Hirst for so long. Nothing like his dad as a striker. David had some guile and quality, George is just physicality and height with little else to mention other than his trademark weird fringe haircut. I’d say he’s worse than Daka and yet he’s ‘Championship favourites™️’ Ipswich’s main striker.
  21. I think he mainly used a double pivot at QPR but that might’ve been due to players he had available. Ultimately I guess he’s slightly less pinned to one formation than Enzo was.
  22. Not saying Ndidi isn’t a loss but I thought Cifuentes used a double pivot with two number 6’s and a number 10 rather than the single pivot and 2 number 8’s that was Enzo ball?
  23. Most spurs fans I saw on social media were amazed that we paid £25m for Skipp and weren’t particularly bothered about either Skipp or Winks leaving 😂.
  24. Maybe you’re right about ball winning. As I say ive not looked at any stats 😂. I’m just going on my eye and I just don’t see that much in a destructive or creative sense that makes me salivate about Skipp in our midfield and he certainly doesn’t make me think he’s like a poor man’s Kante. Maybe a poor man’s James Garner then? Most of the positive comments about him reference a season in The championship 5 years ago when Skipp was in his first flush of youth. A lot of time has passed since then and he’s not stood out at either Spurs or here.
  25. Nope . Junior ‘regulation grade 3 all over’ Lewis
