  1. Thomas hasn’t got pace, he’s not outstanding defensively and he offers very little when he gets forward. His whole kicking style ensures he favours a curved back pass with the inside of his left peg. That’s why he missed that chance at the end. Kicking the ball straight or curving it the other way and with the outside of his left foot is just something he never does and so I wasn’t surprised he pulled the ball well to the right of the post. It’s how he kicks every ball. 4 years seems a long contract for someone who will surely become a squad player. I wonder if the contract length is a sweetener that enabled the club to get him on a significantly reduced wage to what he was on previously to get us more in line with PSR.
  2. He’s playing because he’s our only fit left winger in the first team squad.
  3. Going to sleep when you need a poo is downright reckless advice.
  4. He’ll be the first one to put his hand up and say it didn’t happen from the off today. He’s 16 and he’s a winger, at that age and playing in that position, he will be inconsistent and today it wasn’t his day. It’s probably harder for him when he’s not got Mavididi available to rotate game time with - the pressure to make the impact as a LW is currently entirely on him. Tbh being a left winger in this team is very difficult anyway and it’s probably fair to say Mavididi has found it even more challenging than Monga. As a LCFC left winger you get the ball less than the right winger and you get less support from the full back behind you because Luke Thomas is not an attacking full back, and as I’ve said before, Luke’s kicking technique and body positioning is almost predisposed to hooking the ball backwards or sideways. He’s just not going to be a foil for Monga. Hopefully Monga will forge a good understanding with Rambo - It wasn’t there today, but they’ve not played together much due to the red card.
  5. Terrible ref, was keen to be the centre of attention. Before the match him and his team were warming up, preening and stretching as if they were the star players and sure enough they all performed like they were the main men. Inconsistent with free kicks, bookings, throw in positions and free kick positions. Let time wasting go by with no problems. Linesmen making crazy calls on free kicks and throw ins. The ref was pernickety and ensured the game became slow and disrupted.
  6. Looks Premier League quality. I can imagine he would’ve been underwhelmed with a bid from The Tractor Boys at the start of the season.
  7. Rambo to replace Reid in the next game for me. Bobby did well against Wrexham but reverted to his usual anonymous self against Swansea. Rambo came on and whilst he looked like a player who hadn’t played a lot of football for a while, he was involved way more in the game.
  8. A combination of playing in a better team and the Bundesliga not being at the same level as the Premier League is defo working for ELK
  9. I’m holding back on criticism yet. He got into good positions frequently when he came on and certainly impacted the game. Should’ve scored, but also has a running style that looks a bit slow and a bit awkward. I like the shithousery. Give him a chance
  10. The more BDCR keeps passing to the opposition/touchline the more I think the Wrexham BDCR was a mirage.
  11. We had a better squad than we do now is the reason we were better!!
  12. If he did that all the time you’d have a point but he doesn’t. MOTM against Oxford and scored. He’s not the first player I’d go to as a 10 - I’d go with Rambo - but Ayew can be effective but not as a starting out and out 9.
  13. Ayew can be an effective number 10 or afalse 9 if required. He holds the ball up well and brings others into play. Neither Daka or Ayew are the answer as a number 9. We have to hope Carrenza is better than what he has shown in his brief time here otherwise we are going to struggle until the January transfer window, assuming Evans is not seen as ready.
  14. Okoli’s defending is more hype than reality. Like Vesty gets beaten in the air way too often for his height. I’m sure Okoli will come in and get some game time, he’ll keep giving the ball away and he’ll get dropped and Faes will come back in. The cycle will continue. The fact is neither are the answer. My hope is Nelson.
  15. Surprised with the clamour for Okoli on most people’s team formations. How quickly his complete lack of passing ability is forgotten and how often he left us as vulnerable through it,
  16. Click on view full leaderboard and your stats will update and you can go back to see your true position. Assuming your are logged in btw?
  17. Not sure why you think Thomas can become useful again compared to the others. The reason VK got game time last night was because Luke got ripped apart by Kaboré and he’s the same Thomas that had failed loans at Sheffield United and Middlesbrough at this level.
  18. The Wrexham manager Parkinson has quickly realised Podcast Coady is a liability on the pitch but he has cleverly utilised the ex England defender’s verbal diarrhoea combined with snake levels shithousery to enable Wrexham to win yesterday’s game 1-1. Whilst this goes on in all teams. Only Coady would want to be praised publicly for his grass work.
  19. Winks was better than. A 6/10. MOTM for me
  20. Watching Matty James school £25m Ollie Skipp on how a midfielder should impact a game was a sobering sight for all City fans. An on the pitch sign of where we were and where we now are. If only we had players now with the mentality of the two legends in that photo.
  21. Stolarcyck Aluko Vestergaard Faes Ricardo Winks James Ramsey Monga Carrenza Fatawu
  22. This was probably the worst result of the last 4 draws considering the opponents/the fact we were at home AND Bouba wasn’t involved! JJ is definitely the better option which is what I guess you mean but last night by not playing, it was abundantly clear that from now on Soumare should always be selected ahead of Skipp irrespective of where that is in the pecking order!
  23. Potential banana skin. They’ve got a dangerous striker in Vipotznik and the ex LCFC boys Sheehan and Stearman have got them playing good football. For us hopefully Rambo will be back and Skipp is out of the squad. Nelson and Aluko at least in the squad. Not sure what we do about our strikers tho. Give Carrenza a barely deserved 90 minute go??
  24. Don’t see this strong pressing/running Skipp tbh. I just see someone off the pace and unfortunately way out of his depth.
  25. Ok yeh play Aluko then. I’ve only seen him on the right or central but tbf I’m only really commenting on this preseason and season. He certainly can’t be anymore limited than Thomas or VK.
