Great result. Colwill for Cardiff looks a great player. Seen him a few times and he’s quality. As for Southampton, they’ll defo be without Armstrong looks like he’s did his ACL as he nearly equalised but for a last ditch Cardiff block. He’s a good player and it’s sad for the lad. Sulemana should really be out too as he was unconscious on the pitch.
-
Sulemana just been knocked out cold, gets treatment on the pitch and is allowed back on. What happened to concussion protocols?
-
Yunus can play the KDH role, Cannon in for Vardy and we’ll have to go for Choudhury instead of Ricardo. Should still be enough to give the baggies a good game.
-
Who is going to pay Daka £80k a week other than LCFC? No one. We are stuck with him until his contract runs out. Just as we are with Danny Ward.
-
Cannon hasn’t played enough to get a fair statistical comparison surely?
-
Yeh I agree with that. For someone with a supposed reputation for pressing I just don’t see it. He rarely wins the ball, he likes to let the defender visibly move ahead of him before he then chases him. I’d get that if he did it on the blindside of the player but he doesn’t, he shows the defender the route forward and then follows him, the defender strolls past and having been allowed to get ahead of Daka’s press, he can pass it forward. I haven’t ever seen this approach work and it goes against what would be a logical press that say Liverpool do, pressing face on, making the defender make a quick decision rather then curving a run to open a door and let the defender through which is all Patson ever does.

It’s embarrassing tbh. If the women’s FA want the game to be taken seriously it’s either a neutral ground or a two leg semi.
-
Agreed, wages will keep most of our squad here for next season. Some of that is good news if we stay in The Championship as we have quality players like Ricky, Winks etc unfortunately we will be unable to move players like Daka who isn’t going to get a fraction of his £79k wage anywhere else in the world. We will have him and Danny Ward knocking around the place until their bloated contracts finally end.

He’s always marked his defender, his movement of the ball and positional sense have frustrated the hell out of me since he signed for Rodgers and continues under Enzo.

Enzo Out? Time for an official thread/poll

You can’t sack a manager with 4 games to go but if we don’t go up, he’ll be on shaky ground for next season. There’s also the problem of compensation and PSR… -
Those two words sum up Wout Faes. A player with great technique for a centre half but a massive overconfidence that makes him prone to mistakes like the one that undoubtedly cost us the goal.
-
I would’ve thought my opinion on Patson Daka was quite clear from my comment. No. Presumably you do then?
-
Enzo’s gut feeling was to keep Daka out of the Leicester squad for the first part of the season, selecting two goalies instead of him on the bench. For some reason he overtook Cannon and even Vardy for selection. He’s missed two absolute sitters tonight. He’s missed absolute sitters throughout 2024. He’ll cost us promotion regardless of our gutless defending. Enzo’s blind faith in Patson is spectacularly backfiring for the player, the club and the manager himself.
-
How many gentle lobs do we put into the box to presumably ‘the ghost of Ulloa?’
-
Let’s hope the Zambian 50p experiment has ended (fittingly with that shank) for the season.
-
Forgot to add the 50p boots and head striker missing his umpteenth sitter.
-
Lazy, lazy defending for their goal. Really basic stuff that would get you a bollocking on a Sunday league pitch. Should be hooked and dropped for that error alone. If he stays on he needs a big half to make amends.
-
Same old story, absolutely dominated the game but not taking enough shots, trying to walk the ball through a crowded defence. Opponents score with first shot for the umpteenth time when one of our defenders doesn’t feel it necessary for the umpteenth time to close down his man. Corners are outrageously poor.

There are moments when Enzoball has been sublime. They are when our confidence is up and we play the game with pace and movement. The problem has been a reluctance to try any plan B in terms of tactics and players as teams have got wise to us and strengthened their teams in January. Enzo’s style needs a squad of outstanding footballers whereas we have a select few great players and a majority who are being asked to do something that realistically they aren’t quite able to do. None of our strikers have the skillset to both be a lone striker AND play some complex football deeper and under pressure, one of our number 8’s is actually a CDM destroyer, our left back is either a centre back or a right back who hates his left foot, our inverted right fullback is either a wingback or a back up DM. Our 1st choice wingers are with us because they haven’t shown the consistency needed at the highest level to back up their technique. We’ve become increasingly reliant on an hot headed impetuous central defender. Our bench is full of players even less suitable for Enzoball. I guess Enzo was expecting a January window to correct many of these compromises but that soon became only 1 player and then that disastrously went to -1 players when PSR stopped the Sensi deal and Chelsea shithoused the Butch Casadei loan. It’s been a painful decline since this disappointment. Enzo’s game needs a squad of outstanding specifically skilled talent like at Man City and because of past transfer mistakes and a clampdown on PSR Enzo hasn’t been able to build this.

He’s deluded if he thinks his Leicester spell is going to earn him a move. He might as well stay in his property until his contract runs out in 2026 👀🥺, then downsize when his wages fall off a cliff.
-
Iheanacho’s was on target at least. KDH’s disgusted reaction to Daka’s 50p header tells you exactly what he was thinking. It must be so frustrating playing at that level alongside a striker like Daka. Very rarely, he can actually finish well but the vast majority of the time he plays, he looks like a celebrity in one of those charity matches playing alongside professional footballers.

Wanya Marcal signs new contract until 2026

He showed promise against Bournemouth including dribbling past his fullback a few times. It would allow Mavididi to be rested during a game like last night when he was having an absolute nightmare. -
He isn’t, his positional sense isn’t great. He doesn’t get many chances and those he does invariably go off at acute angles due to his 50p head and feet.
-
Mavididi was poor but it didn’t help that his usual partner on the left KDH was replaced by the far less creative Ndid who also looked absolutely knackered for most of the game.
-
Err ok. He’s decent, but in the same sense that ‘Kermo was decent.’ (apologies for ancient foxestalk banter)
