Yeh I agree with that. For someone with a supposed reputation for pressing I just don’t see it. He rarely wins the ball, he likes to let the defender visibly move ahead of him before he then chases him. I’d get that if he did it on the blindside of the player but he doesn’t, he shows the defender the route forward and then follows him, the defender strolls past and having been allowed to get ahead of Daka’s press, he can pass it forward. I haven’t ever seen this approach work and it goes against what would be a logical press that say Liverpool do, pressing face on, making the defender make a quick decision rather then curving a run to open a door and let the defender through which is all Patson ever does.

Agreed, wages will keep most of our squad here for next season. Some of that is good news if we stay in The Championship as we have quality players like Ricky, Winks etc unfortunately we will be unable to move players like Daka who isn’t going to get a fraction of his £79k wage anywhere else in the world. Enzo’s gut feeling was to keep Daka out of the Leicester squad for the first part of the season, selecting two goalies instead of him on the bench. For some reason he overtook Cannon and even Vardy for selection. He’s missed two absolute sitters tonight. He’s missed absolute sitters throughout 2024. He’ll cost us promotion regardless of our gutless defending. Enzo’s blind faith in Patson is spectacularly backfiring for the player, the club and the manager himself.
