Mavididi was abysmal in the first half, but with the situation we found ourselves in with Fatawu’s red card, I would have kept Mavididi on for a little longer, at least then you’d have his pace and directness to potentially create counter attacking situations. As soon as Cannon came off, we were asking for trouble and just invited even more pressure. I know we’re sparse in attacking areas atm, but we needed either Mavididi or Cannon on for the full 90, just to give us an outlet to get us up the pitch. If we had still gone on to lose the game, then so be it.

EFL Officiating Abomination Journal 23/24
kingfox replied to Trelleh's topic in Leicester City Forum
The standard of officiating in England is at an all time low, you could say some of the major incidents today were subjective, but it’s the lack of consistency that pisses me off, the lack of refereeing consistency has become a serious stain on the game this season. -
Should have kept Cannon on for the full 90 imo, we needed an outlet to get us up the pitch, as soon as he went off we were asking for trouble.
-
Have to criticise Maresca I’m afraid, should have kept at least one attacking outlet on for the full 90.

That match is why I love this Sport, Snooker drama at it’s best. Think Allen just about deserved that in the end, can’t remember the last time Selby cued that bad, all over the place at times in the second half of the match.
-
Well, that 147 was certainly drama filled As @Bert said, some excellent recovery shots

It’s been clear as day what Ronnie is prioritising this season, the Triple Crown events and the China events seem to be his go to this season, regardless if Ally Pally is a shithole(I know many Snooker fans that don’t rate Ally Pally either) something clearly fuels him to play The Masters, even though he may not admit it.
-
Barry missed the boat in that match, should have led 5-2. That last red from Ronnie though in his match winning break was class.
-
No wonder he’s coming to Leicester then. Give him a life’s supply of Walkers Crisps, Melton Mowbray Pork Pies and a Zizzi’s gift card, he’s sorted.
-
The drive down Narborough Road onto Upperton Road, passing Lidl, Statue of Liberty & the eyesore student flats on Jarrom Street. I bet he doesn’t get picturesque drives like that in Milan.
-
Of course he’s said yes. The National Space Centre, King Richard III centre, Walkers Crisps factory. Does Milan have attractions like that? No it bloody doesn’t.
-
Not surprised he hasn’t hit the heights with a name like Roger for his age.
-
I’d keep tabs on Lameck Banda of Lecce too. He’ll be at AFCON with Daka 👍🏻

A standout improvement would probably cost over £20 million, that kind of money should either go on a centre back or striker imo, an option as competition for Mavididi would probably be the route to go down, someone that wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Don’t know how much Celtic would want for Luis Palma, but he fits the bill for Maresca’s style of wingers. A double swoop for him and O’Riley would be nice.
-
Can’t remember if Maresca stated it himself early in the season, but he likes his wingers to be impactful in 1vs1 situations, something that Mavididi & Fatawu excel at. Jack Clarke leads that statistic in the Championship by a considerable margin for 1vs1 dribbles, he also has a 63% success rate, one of the highest amongst Championship wingers. He is exactly the type of winger that Maresca craves in his system. If he doesn’t get snapped up in January, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s on our radar if we get promoted. Of course his Tottenham move didn’t go to plan, he could well be one of those players who is too good for the Championship, but not quite good enough for the Premier League. With the season he is having though, 12 goals so far, I think he’s doing enough to earn another shot at a Premier League move.

A good time to spam this thread with Allsvenskan left-wingers

His injury record since 2020 looks pretty naff, with muscular issues being a reoccurring theme. If he stays fit, it could be shrewd business. If his injury niggles continue, then he’ll be an injury prone flop.
-
Maresca has more than likely pinpointed him as cover for Winks, with the ability to play further forward as a 8 if necessary. If we were in the Premier League, it’s the type of signing that I’d rather avoid, especially with his crap injury record. At Championship level though, if he can stay fit, it could prove to be a shrewd bit of business, but there’d be that doubt of whether he could hack the Premier League. I’d rather a move like this be a loan tbh, then reassess the position again in the summer, as an alternate for Winks will definitely be necessary.

When @moore_94 finally comments on a transfer thread

FFS, I was hoping for Josh Brownhill on a five year contract.
-
Good spot, looks like they were at West Ham at the same time. He’s more defensive minded than the others I’ve mentioned, but would give us that defensive solidity that Ndidi has given us over the years. But knowing us, we’ll probably sign Josh Brownhill on a five year contract.
-
Toni Fruk - Rijeka Kristijan Belic - Partizan Like with Gronbaek, they’ve stood out in their respective leagues this season, they all possess that creative element that I think we’re lacking. Players from those types of leagues though can be such a gamble, but that might have to be the type of market we go for, unless we grab a loan from the Premier League or any of the other top five leagues.
-
He’s cropped up on the radar while looking at the Scandinavian leagues, think he was let go by Nordsjaelland wasn’t he but having a pretty decent season for Lyngby. Mentioned him to Strider in the DM I sent you guys the other week, Anders Klynge is another one in Denmark that has caught my attention. Plays as a LCM, currently sits 2nd for most assists, good possession stats, decent creative passing stats, while he also ranks 7th for most defensive duels in the Superliga.
-
Ding’s cue ball control for the majority of that was perfection, a joy to watch when he plays like that.
-
Used mainly as a sub for Rennes, he had a couple of decent cameos in the first couple of months of the season, but has done very little since. We’re probably interested due to his dribbling ability in 1 vs 1 situations, but his dribbling can be very hit and miss. He’d probably do well at Championship level, but I don’t see a Premier League quality player in him...not yet anyway.
