Just awaiting a “Here we go soon” Romano tweet.

Another player in a long conveyor belt of defenders that France have high hopes for. Has only started two league games this season, his most recent coming at the weekend against Reims. He had to cover both LCB and RCB in that game, looked very assured in both positions and had a pretty solid game overall 👍🏻

I think it boils down to a mixture of burnout, impatience and entitlement. I just think a section of the fanbase is just burnt out with watching possession style football. We have gone from Puel to Rodgers to Maresca. Three managers who may have different philosophies, but at the end of the day it’s three managers who pride themselves on a possession based system. We have seen it on a regular basis since 2017, when possession based football works well, it can be great to watch. When possession based football doesn’t work well, often when teams sit back against us and we find it difficult to break them down, we have seen it under Puel, Rodgers and now Maresca, that when this happens the style does become tedious at times. This is where the sense of impatience comes into it. It’s one thing I have noticed a lot this season, both in the stands and on here in match threads. There’s many fans who just don’t have the patience with this team and our style of football, we have seen it so many times with first half performances, moans and groans wanting all out attack from the first minute. Come the second half, especially after sixty minutes, many times this season we turn on the style and dispatch teams away comfortably. Those fans are then left with egg on their face. We knew from the get go what Maresca’s style of play was going to be, at times possession based football can become a little tedious, but time and time again this season, patience with this team is key. If you have enough patience, then you’ll get enjoyment out of this team. If you are impatient and want all out attack from minute one, then Maresca ball isn’t for you. The sense of entitlement does also play a part, a section of our fanbase clearly turn up every week expecting us to destroy teams 4-0, 5-0 on a regular basis. The Championship was never going to be that easy, they’ll be some games where we just scrape by, and they’ll be some games where we blow teams away. At the end of the day, we have won 22 out of 29, sitting 10 points clear, from a table and results perspective, enjoy the ride.

Wasn’t sold on Yunus to begin with, but he is starting to win me over. Maresca bringing him on when he did made a massive difference.
-
We need another option along with Mavididi & Fatawu, unfortunately McAteer & Albrighton won’t give you what they do.
-
Probably won’t happen but we could do with another winger who is effective in 1 vs 1 situations.
-
When his pot success is only 58%, surely you can class that as uncharacteristic?
-
Selby just been pummelled 5-1 by Marco Fu at the German Masters. Another performance from Selby that was littered with uncharacteristic mistakes.
-
Skelly Alvero on loan from Lyon He’d certainly make a difference to a midfield that is currently full of midgets.

Depends how desperate we are when it comes to P&S rules. In an ideal World, Souttar, Praet & Iheanacho are the trio that we should be looking to flog. I doubt we’d be willing to take a hit on Souttar though, it’s unlikely that a club will come in with a £15-20 million bid for him, therefore the only option is to loan him out. I doubt any club will want to take Praet off our hands for 10 million plus. Iheanacho is about the only one who we may get decent money for, despite him being out of contract in the summer.

You can’t fault McAteer for his work rate and pressing ability, but Ric makes a fair point. McAteer just isn’t effective enough in 1 vs 1 situations, something which Maresca has stated himself is a key aspect to how he likes his wingers to play. Mavididi & Fatawu will give you that, McAteer unfortunately won’t. We could do with better depth on the wings tbh, they’d probably want regular game time, but someone like Zaroury or Benson from Burnley would be absolute perfect for us.

Absolute beast of a midfielder, shame he went to Saudi as he was an absolute joy to watch for Lens. Would be a serious coup if we ended up getting him.

Seems obvious that Wasserman are one of our main go-to’s. Wouldn’t be surprised if many clubs operate in similar fashion, I know Watford do with agent Mogi Bayat. Phil Jones is a Wasserman client if we’re that desperate
-
Great spot regarding the Wasserman connection. Mad how many of their clients are currently part of Leicester, been part of Leicester or been linked with Leicester. Kristoffer Ajer, Ben Brereton Diaz, Zack Steffen, Tom Fellows all been linked in the past or quite recently. Graham Potter & Oscar Garcia are also Wasserman clients have been linked as potential Leicester managers before.

8.31 Expected Assists - 1st in the Championship 1.23 Smart Passes per90 - 2nd in the Championship 0.90 Key Passes per90 - 2nd in the Championship Would be difficult to replace his creative input this late in the window.

Gone two hours and return to this.

Can’t see the likes of Baleba & Dahoud dropping down to the Championship, would be a pleasant surprise if they did. Moder surely the most realistic of the trio, I’d happily take him till May.
-
Just started getting back from a long term injury, but Jakub Moder is probably more realistic tbf Ric. Can’t think of many more realistic options from the Premier League apart from Andrey Santos & Nico O’Reilly. Could always use Enzo’s Italian connections, the likes of Giovanni Fabbian & Cristian Volpato aren’t getting regular game time in Serie A.

Thank you Tennis gods

This is what Maresca said after Ipswich I believe. I guess he’s referring to wanting another midfielder along with Sensi. “We struggle to bring in one (midfielder)! We’ll see if we can bring one. And then if we can bring one, we’ll see if we can bring another one. I don’t know in this moment.”
-
If there’s a slight chance of getting another winger in before the deadline, competition for Mavididi is a space that could do with filling.
-
Hard to watch Zverev with a domestic abuse case hanging over him. Hoping for a Sinner vs Medvedev final, but no doubt Djokovic will win it.

Would be interesting to see should he sign a new deal, whether or not Maresca would ever play Ndidi in that enforcer role. We all know how good he can be in terms of tackles & interceptions. With what Maresca said last night regarding tiredness in midfield and needing a different solution, it felt like we were missing both a controller and enforcer in the midfield in the latter part of the game. Winks as we know is very much a possession based footballer, out of possession I think he has his limitations, last night in particular him & Ricardo got exposed so badly in the last 20 minutes. I feel an alternative to Winks is much needed, somebody who can do both in terms of being good in possession, but also that enforcer when out of possession.
