Thereās been many people on this forum begging for a change of style of play. Theyāll be a bunch of fans advocating for an old school Dyche type. Some will want a pure counter attacking style. Some will want an aggressive counter pressing style. Letās be honest, this is the perfect opportunity to do something different. To have a complete reset and get rid of a good chunk of this squad. Regardless who the manager is, changes will be inevitably needed. If Dyche was to get appointed for instance, what would be needed? A new goalkeeper seems inevitable with Hermansen probably leaving. Full-backs would be pretty much set up for him. He usually likes his centre backs to be aerially dominant, we already have a few defenders like that. A few changes in midfield are inevitable with Ndidi and Soumare likely to leave. Weāre pretty well covered on the wings. While a couple of new strikers are inevitable too. The problem with Dyche though, is those changes will probably end up being Michael Keane on a free and a carbon copy of Calvert-Lewin. Iād very much prefer an aggressive counter pressing style of manager, but whatever camp youāre in regarding style of play, I think we can all agree that this is the perfect opportunity for something different.

Looking abroad, thereās just far more better leagues to target where youth development is concerned, thatās why Iām very high on Will Still as Ligue 1 is a perfect league to look at. But you have a few others scattered around, your good mate Alessio Lisci being one.

Came across his record when looking through the European leagues. Was a bit turned off with the average age of his squad. Turkey is the ultimate cesspit for experienced journeymen, for instance he signed Jonjo Shelvey.

This is probably boring Sunday paper talk, but you can easily imagine him being shortlisted. I cba to post any tables again, but the data is out there that suggests Dyche loves experience. When he first came into Burnley, the average age of the squad was actually quite reasonable, but as time went on the squad got older. In four of the seasonās he was at Burnley, whether it be Premier League or Championship, they had the oldest squad in the division. In his campaigns at Everton, last season they had the 2nd oldest squad in the division, this season the 4th. He also has a habit of fielding experienced starting 11ās. At times during his Burnley and Everton reigns, the average age of his starting line ups were 30 years old. Thatās without taking into account his style of football. Those dreaming of having a target man up front, should be salivating at the thought of Dyche. Would I say Dyche is against promoting youth, no. For instance he gave Everton youngster Harrison Armstrong a crack in the first team this season. As @moore_94 has pointed out though, his history with promoting youth is very sporadic. Thereās managers out there that you can guarantee would give our youngsters a chance, Sean Dyche doesnāt come into that bracket. If he got appointed, Iād be extremely nervous on how heād view the likes of Nelson, Alves, Monga and Evans.

Those who want Dyche, should be calling for Urs Fischer too, thatās all Iāll say on that matter Still has been linked with the Southampton job, but maybe 1-2 Premier League jobs come up in the summer that he gets linked with.

At the end of the day, itās all going to depend on how obsessed our board still is regarding possession based football. If they still have that obsession, then of course all roads lead to Brussel. But as Iāve posted in the past with graphs regarding style of play, the times are changing, and to give yourself the best chance of longer term success, being more fast and direct is the way to go. Therefore it has to be Rohl, Mousinho or Still for me, Will Still especially is the perfect candidate imo. Young up-and-coming manager Played a more fast, direct style, especially at Reims Intense pressing out of possession, both at Reims and Lens Currently working in a league that relies heavily on youth development, his Reims side were one of the youngest in Ligue 1 Has varied formations, but prefers 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 which would suit our squad Championship would be the perfect next step in his managerial career imo

I know @Claudio Fannieri also mentioned him the other week. His data caught my eye recently, extremely strong numbers.

Weāll never know the depths of Cooperās appointment, but from the off it was clear he wanted a few tweaks from Enzoās style, but as time went on the style of football just had zero identity. From Ruudās point of view, the only thing you have to go on is his PSV stint, where unsurprisingly they were one the more dominant possession sides in the Eredivisie. If Ruud was our manager in the Championship, it would be no surprise if he looked to dominate possession more often than not. All these recent comments regarding quick transitions for instance, that just shows how clueless he is considering he was playing our slowest attackers over Mavididi. Iād rather see someone else who can also adopt an aggressive press, thatās why Iām very keen on the likes of John Mousinho and Will Still. You give them the right tools, especially in midfield when energy is needed, you take Ndidi, Soumare and Winks out the equation, then that style could work well.

Topās history of appointing managers - Rodgers, Smith, Maresca, Cooper and RVN, while also keen on Graham Potter for a long period of time. The majority of those appointments and being keen on Potter, that to me shows an owner who had strong visions for possession based football. The one that made no sense from that lot was Cooper, weāll have no idea what his PowerPoint presentation said. But of course as youāve laid out, Potter was first choice, he pissed about, so Cooper was appointed instead. Many fans will say this board has zero vision, they had clear vision when they appointed the likes of Rodgers and Maresca especially, yet they fvcked up that vision with the managerial appointments for this season. If the next manager is Russell Martin for example, then yet again it shows that the clubs main vision is possession based football. If Top really is a big name merchant that some fans claim him to be, then it will probably be Steven Gerrard walking through the door.

Canāt imagine Top having pictures of Graham Potter in a York City shirt on his bedroom wall either tbf.
