  1. A good game even despite VAR's best efforts to make it as unenjoyable for everybody as possible.
  2. If that's how Chelsea are getting around it then teams need to take no notice going forward surely. That should be the end of the rules there and then.
  3. It's a shame how bad he actually is. He looks a poorer player today than four years ago.
  4. I don't think you could entirely bash somebody for not calling out the Rodgers contract at the time simply because it wasn't clear what the terms were or what the situation was going to be. That contract was absolute suicide and completely beyond our means - it was a contract we should've never offered. We were simply not of that echelon. That was the day we had started ceding control of what had gotten us to where we were - what had actually had us punching above our weight as a club. We cashed in and backed the wrong horse in the process. It reminds me a touch of the PSG / Mbappe situation where they have quite openly sold out just to keep him. To then come out of it with little face saved and looking pretty small-time in the process. We treated Rodgers like he was bigger than the club. From that day we were on the decline.
  5. Today has been the straw that's broken the camels back in terms of just biting the bullet and saying I'm cashing out any freeze I land. Absolute nonsense scores but some unbelievable freeze odds landed. I've bagged around £250 from today. Would've been even more if Juventus could beat 2 wins all season, no win all 2024 'Salernitana at home' but so be it. They'll pull this soon. It's crazy.
  6. That Norwich Leeds game is the worst game I've ever seen.
  7. They invaded the pitch after finishing 21st in the Championship in 2017. There was a fantastic screenshot where you saw their fans on the pitch with the table on the side, showing them below literal Burton Albion.
  8. I can't really call Everton. They'd be 11th without the deduction which is pretty respectable with what's a bottom half squad. Goodison has become quite hard to go to again. I don't see many really obvious strugglers bar Forest. Given I think we'll be up against it given our likely weakened squad and points deduction I've been looking at who is realistically going to struggle. I see a lot of ordinary teams but not many who I think could completely tank. Don't automatically assume that the three who came up will go down again next year just because it happened this time but I don't see any absolute clear strugglers. I thought Wolves and Fulham would struggle this season, based on quite similar finishes to a year ago and neither really have done. There's just no way the three who go up this time can be as bad as Burnley, Sheff Utd and Luton. Even with our deduction, even with Ipswich and potentially Norwich I doubt we'd accumulate even close to as few as 66 points. A generationally bad effort.
  9. You rank ours and their seasons since we went up in terms of points, 12 years between us and Forest's points tallies account for the 10th and 12th best efforts. Genuinely very lucky to have not gone down already.
  10. Doesn't reflect badly on us that this is the PL season we've missed. 29 points had you safe with two games spare and nearly every side flunked it in Europe. Been very entertaining, loads of goals, but think the defending for the most part has been abysmal. One of the weaker Premier Leagues.
  11. These surely have to go next season FFS.
  12. For all of Forest and Everton's complaints (which may or may not be valid) how lucky are they, Forest especially (Everton have actually done OK) to have had them in this season of all. 29 points and Forest are safe with games spare. Absolutely biblical luck. We're getting the worst punishment of all given we aren't going to have the Luton, Burnley and Sheff Utd safety net.
  13. Fabrizio Romano filling up the engine season.
  14. I remember his face during the interview. Genuinely looked as fed up as all of us after 2022/23 and he'd been here about a month
  15. I baulked at it when I first read it but the more I think about it, the more I can see the sense. I think if you kept him fit and his wages weren't mental it'd be a really good signing. Has a decent record, been part of some successful sides, offers us something completely different to what we have. Could potentially see it on loan.
  16. no posts since 4th April. Completely bottled it. Didn't somebody on here bet him as well?
  17. With the obvious noose around our neck of an impending points deduction and the fact we've got to make pretty substantial sales before we make fairly small buys, regretfully it just has to be 17th.
  18. Southampton and Preston were the ones. Yesterday was completely flat bar the actual trophy lift.
  19. Macnulty passes the FM test too.
  20. Greek sides do bizarrely well against English.
  21. Up there with the best away end I've ever been in. Preston away really was the perfect fixture we could've had in many ways.
  22. I think after our last decade it would drive our fans mental. Palace's performances in the cups are really poor given their relatively solid base.
  23. I have genuinely enjoyed going to some of these away grounds again. When we were in the Premier League some of the first ones I'd look out for were the teams coming up from the Championship, so it's nice to have had some genuine variety. This is a particularly great Championship for that as the clubs are dotted in all corners of the country. The Premier League by its nature lacks this variety - 7 London teams and 4 in Manchester/Liverpool - that's nearly two thirds of your away games in the same three cities. Having gotten a bit older and made more of a day of going to a lot of these places again it's been genuinely a bit more of an adventure. Winning games is an obvious one but I'm not going to pretend that there's felt much reward in it for the most part, and that might be arrogance, but I can't help that. No VAR is a big one. It's been probably the worst ever this season as well in the Premier League, which has been funny to watch as an outsider seeing further vindication of my stance against it. Hopefully the pushback gets more and more to the point they actually realise the self-harm they're doing. I've actually enjoyed the Coventry beef more than I have Forest. I dislike Coventry immensely and that has grown a lot over this season, but I tell you what, I'll give them this, they're a lot more pure about it. Forest and their Derby love in is so dreary, so boring. Do it properly. In total contrast to what I've thought not all that long ago, I do think this team for the most part does actually care. They have had some shockers particularly in the last two months, but I do root for them more than I did the last couple of seasons. I've not lost sight of how badly I think the club is run, but I do think there has been a lot more realisation of this from our fans now and the recent flurry of Foxes Trust sign ups are a really positive sign. I think we as a fanbase have as a collective been quite well managed to be a bit soft and obedient - but there are signs that there is still something about us. Feel like the support for UFS is at an all-time high as well - was also the case last season but I think it's only grown. I think genuine struggle on the pitch has actually seen a lot more resonate with us due to the general lack of accountability within the club and the fact UFS have taken a pretty public stance doing this. Enjoyed having a manager who conveys genuine passion. I still have reservations about him and I'd be lying if I said I was hugely confident in him, but it's been refreshing in that sense - we've not had that in a long time on the touchline.
  24. This season again is proof of how ridiculous it is that they nominate the candidates for manager of the season with a few games left. How can Farke possibly have made the top three now?
  25. Mixed for me but massive props if he's got anything to do with Fatawu and Hermansen.
