  1. Roll on the Steaua-esque split.
  2. 6-2 Jesus Christ.
  3. The worst of Newcastle as well though. Barca really haven't had to do a lot to score 4 times here.
  4. Spain has very much punched above its weight in Europe for a long time.
  5. How the **** is that not a red
  6. This is the flip side of the Premier League - I think the teams at the top are relatively weak, but Newcastle are a great advert for the strength of the league, sat 9th and they're clearly a good team. It feels a more balanced league than it used to.
  7. Strange team Newcastle. They've done really well here.
  8. Agree. It's better for the league that this years teams are generally faltering. On the pitch it's as dreary a Premier League season as I've seen in a long time.
  9. Coming up to two years and even this year if they do it won't be one of the major ones. They are a noticeably poorer team than 2/3 years ago.
  10. They have something over Leicester - they still have to play Leicester.
  11. 76% possession in the second half at home to QPR, 4 shots taken, 1 on target, xg of 0.11. The ultimate flaccid team. This is the football that the owner is pushing for. Obsessed with all of the things that count for nothing.
  12. Probably time to go for Guardiola. It's not just really happening.
  13. This is us what feels like every season. Total farce in the lead up to this season. Pre-season 2024 was just a tour to see how many European second tier teams we could lose to. I remember Maresca's face during that ridiculous Thailand tour in 2023 as well. Our demise isn't a surprise. An absolute joke how badly we've been run.
  14. What a disgrace.
  15. I always remember your post prior to the 2022/23 season - aged superbly. Yet you feel like the club are almost oblivious to the trends that even fans can see. James potentially having two relegations to League One on his CV by 21 is an utter travesty. I'm nearly certain he'll have a decent PL career.
  16. About two thirds of the way into my season and it's gone well. We'll go up - I don't think we've been amazing but the leagues very balanced and nobody else is much good, there's not a lot between most teams. We've generally been winning at home and drawing away, which is working. My best centre half has ended up retiring mid season due to getting an ACL. Spasojevic, leagues top scorer, is only on loan. I've also lost Petronijevic on a free, had my own Rudkin moment - I find the vast majority of the time in these sorts of leagues that virtually everyone is given a 12 month contract at a time, but virtually my entire squad are on two years which is actually a bit of a problem if we do go up because a lot of them probably won't be good enough and we're stuck with a lot of them. However Petronijevic only had one year and a top tier side have taken him off us.
  17. Very borderline. Went up one or two times. Again though I was just scoping for the future - incase we ever won the league.
  18. In fairness to him, I signed up in 2008, was waiting to see if we ever won the Premier League, biding my time, and then started supporting when it did happen. So he's right. He got me. These are the people we're meant to respect? their opinions should be totally disregarded. Cattle.
  19. We haven't created consistent chances for basically five years - minus 6 months in 2023/24. Shit recruitment. Fixated on all of the irrelevant things tactically. Real losers.
  20. Yet another player who seems to get worse the longer it goes on. It's time, and time, and time again. What is going on?
  21. Biggest fear about the 'players I can trust' comment is I wouldn't be surprised if this means Mukasa comes out for Bob Reid and Ayew retains his place. If Ayew starts at Watford then Rowett should be sacked.
