  1. Apparently, Only change is Coady back in. Wanya on the bench.
  2. Hamza, Coady, Akgun and Kel all to start tonight I reckon
  3. It’s learning the new system because that doesn’t happen over night. Look at the problems Southampton are having learning this kind of football despite the quality in their ranks. Were nowhere near the finished article in this style and system yet. It’s testament to Enzo that we’re as good as we are compared to how other teams have struggled to adapt to this kind of football previously.
  4. Agree and really hope so but I think Albrighton will just take Kasey’s spot in the bench.
  5. Don’t think that’ll bother Enzo as he proved against Norwich. I’d expect to see a few changes in all of the midweek games. We’ve got good squad depth and Enzo isn’t afraid to use it. I think Coady, Hamza, Akgun and Kel all come in at a minimum.
  6. I don’t expect you to understand this from what we’ve seen of your posts today, but for anyone else that was wondering the same thing… The idea behind a centre back taking a goal kick in that scenario is so the first pass goes centrally. If it’s played by Hermansen wide to a centre back you’re enticing a team that are full-court-pressing you (as Blackburn were from goal kicks) to one side thus closing the angles - where as playing it centrally leaves the pressing team not committing either side. You’re then set with your goalkeeper to play any direction he damn likes - pass short if it’s on, or long to a winger as Mads often does.
  7. I understand @Ashley’s point to be fair, it did seem that Justin was a lot less “marauding” Doyle is. Which is bizarre considering he’s the more natural full back of the two. Perhaps has a lot to do with being right footed and Enzo not wanting him in advanced areas on his wrong foot with Mavididi already cutting in a lot onto his right from the left side himself.
  8. I think he’ll be straight back in regardless of Coady’s performance. Integral to the way we play in possession along with Mads and Winks.
  9. Reminds me a lot of Bernardo Silva in terms of style and he’s getting better every game.
  10. Might just be the best CB in this league certainly with the ball at his feet.
  11. This is massively true. We’re all talking about how good Liverpool’s press was but helps when you’ve got a weak referee that doesn’t give fouls for all those niggly contact fouls - which he definitely let them get away with last night.
  12. We’d have played better through their press last night had Mads, Vestergaard and Winks started, but we made a decision to make changes and essentially take the risk of throwing the game - so be it. We’re not at a level where we can make 10 changes and there not be a drop off. I liked how despite that drop off we still had the balls to play the way WE play. Fvck going to Anfield and surrendering possession, going long and dropping off into a low block until the inevitable happens. Boring stuff.
  13. Some on here will never give Hamza the credit he deserves. He was never as bad as people made out in the first place and has a totally unique profile in our squad even if he is a little limited technically. The role he’s playing at the moment takes a V decent Footballing IQ, and Maresca loves him for that. He’s also definitely in a group of players that are getting better and better under Enzo and long may it continue.
  14. JJ backed up by Nelson moving forward.
  15. Disgusting low block we came up against today with no intention to press, all designed to prevent central ball progression. Interesting to see the differences in how teams have set up against us so far… Hull and Norwich going man to man, Bristol City low block, Cardiff mid block sitting on Winks and Ricardo. I personally don’t think Bristol City’s method of dropping off was the answer today, we absolutely dominated them from minute one. When you set up like that against us you’re relying on the us not taking our chances as opposed to managing to stop us (or even getting near us today). Rosenior and Hull got the closest to doing a job on us so far, albeit with a lot of risk and a whole lot of luck.
  16. Way too good, Best player in the division without a shadow of doubt.
  17. Bloke has a cigar on when he’s got the ball at his feet, got to be the best CB in this league in terms of ball playing.
  18. They did for the first two games now Petty has reverted to type. Whether that’s because he’s without Wormleighton to play the Ricardo role I don’t know.
  19. I’ve noticed this pattern of play a few times vs Southampton and Norwich. The double pivot (Be it Winks/Ricardo/Hamza and in this case Ndidi) spin off their markers when Mads has the ball, and show for the pass off the striker. Lovely stuff, like an NFL move.
  20. Will be making a late dash for the Euro’s squad at this rate
  21. We’re now seeing the player that you see when he plays/played for Denmark. Fair play to him and Enzo.
  22. The elite will be queuing out of the door for him. Enjoy him whilst you can.
  23. We’ve all been saying how good our depth is. Gotta use it when you play 3 in a week. No point them sat on their arses waiting for an injury.
