Hats off to UFS tonight, you guys were cracking and Enzo showed he thought the same too

Absolutely. If anything it’s the absolute opposite - the tactics clicked from game one and our individual quality has took a bit of time to get going, debatably even still now whilst we’re sharing the goals around. To say we’re not as good as the league table suggests right now too, Jesus Christ Awful take.

Jannik’s best attribute is his passing, let’s be honest if he was more mobile and less gangly you’d be playing him in midfield. He’s a benefactor of Enzo ball as much being as he was tarnished by Brendan ball. That and we’re that good in this league that we’re not getting exposed as much defensively. In the Prem you’d start to see the cracks in Jannik’s game again I’m sure. He’s the best defender in this division right now though, so just enjoy him whilst we’re here because he either leaving next summer or struggling a bit more at a higher level.

Hadn’t realised how integral Ricardo has been to some of our best moves this season. Man is slicing teams open like prime Xavi.

Patterns. Over and over again.
-
Kane wouldn’t have reached his ultimate potential if he came here permanently anyway. It wasn’t working here and Nige wasn’t getting the best out of him - played him wide a few times iirc.
-
Enzo is not going to play Dennis Praet at 6. Choudhury is the back up and he can play Wilf there if he really needs too as well.

Coady is right footed, also don’t see Maresca wanting him to play wide CB too often because of his lack of pace to defend out wide when caught on the break - which I think is the whole thinking behind converting Hamza to play there.
-
I’m not sure isolated is the word when we had all 10 outfield players in their half for the whole half. Just crowded out a bit. Their no.6 (who I was actually quite impressed with) was just tasked with the role of screening that pass off.

You’d think after the Bristol City celebration went viral they’d all wind their necks in a bit

Someone is going to get an absolute tonking sooner or later. We’ve put already 4 past some teams without it being full throttle.
-
Dunno why the sarcastic response, he’s spot on. Regardless of the system Enzo wants us to play, Ricardo hasn’t got the same marauding athleticism since his injuries that he used to have back when he was one of the best wing backs in the country. He’s certainly nowhere near as quick as he used to be.

Bored of Leeds fans saying Ampadu is better than him on twitter. Can’t wait for Winks to take him for a walk at the King Power in a few weeks.
-
Fantastic choice of pass for the second goal. One of his quieter days though, I’d still pay the fee for a permanent deal.
-
Best game today. Still not pulling up many trees in an utterly dominant team and performance mind.

Start Hamza and Akgun plz Enzo.

Perhaps it’s his zone yeah. Getting the impression it’s just a confident arrogance of “we shouldn’t be here” and a siege mentality thing. Hope he’s enjoying it as much as he should be. He’s one of, if not the main man.

Not necessarily a tactic post here but I don’t know where else to really put it - did anyone clock onto Caballero sending a ball boy round to the rest of the ball boys behind the goal telling them to speed things up when Preston were time wasting in the second half? and then send him around again after we scored to tell them to slow it down Class. Attention to details
-
I always feel he finds the right tactical solutions by half time. They always come out in the second half a bit more clued up on either their build up shape or pressing structure. Was definitely the case tonight.

I know @Ric Flair mentioned this on the pod this week, but would love to see him just enjoy himself and play with a smile on his face a little bit more at the moment. Seemed to be a bit of frustration in his celebration tonight be it with the fans or himself.

Slight tweak to the in possession shape tonight for the first half - Ricardo playing in an advanced area along with KDH and Ndidi. Enzo mentioned on RL that they sprung a bit of a tactical surprise on him, think he obviously expected them to turn up with a back 5 and so wanted to go 6 (Mavididi, Ndidi, Vardy, KDH, Ricardo, Fatawu) vs an expected back 5… so maybe expect to see that again when the next back 5 low block team rock up at the KP. Normal service resumed once we tweaked and Ricardo dropped back alongside Winks second half. Much more control, and it showed. But nice to see Enzo had something new up his sleeve nonetheless. PS. Not having a left footer in that back three is killing the fluidity a bit in possession, but we’re riding it out.
