But being under heavy suspicion and then revealing yourself as a traitor is better isn't it? Makes the rest of the group think you've helped get a traitor and deflects attention away. It only becomes a risk if the player banished really outs you which Freddie kind of failed to do, in the sense there wasn't a justifiable reason for him to randomly throw Charlotte's name at the round table.
I don't see the error of recruiting to kill immediately.
