What did they expect this season? Ruud not sacked until well into the summer. Weeks to appoint Cifuentes. Barely any friendlies. Millions raised in transfer fees - where did the money go? No signings until the last day of the transfer window. Hopelessly underprepared. You cannot go down last season with that squad, and just not bother to do any sort of rebuild. What did they expect? Bunch of misfit players who are remnants of previous regimes. Poor choice of manager aligned to an ineffective, outdated style of play. Completely hopeless. We have way more points on board than we should have, bailed out by worldies. Left Cifuentes sacking too late, dithering again on a replacement, no signings until the last day of the window again. Negligence.
