That old chestnut, we’ve seen this level of response since Maresca left. No manage seems good enough and every foxestalk poster has their own opinion the club will never get it right. For me Corberan is who I’d go for but he’s I’d imagine the £4million release clause is the sticking point. Potter it would seem isn’t chomping at the bit to come here so the inevitable choice is Cooper. I’d feel uneasy going for an unknown with zero experience in the premier league the aim should be to stay up at all costs with the tiny budget we’ll have - I’m certain some on here think we’re going to attract the next big thing with a points deduction and minimal spend, it’ll be a tough job and we’re likely limited with who want to it.
-
So if this is true then it’s Potter stalling and that is out of the clubs hands.
-
Hope you’re right, our aim is just to stay up and think Cooper can do that. After thinking it be Potter it feels like a downgrade. I bet we were advancing with Potter but weren’t quite agreeing to terms and promises then Cooper aware of this via press reports, probably then agreed to whatever we were after and the club have financially gone for this option. Some didn’t even want Potter some are never happy, can’t say I’m happy with Cooper but I can see why he’d be an option, just not the best one by a long way IMO.

It’s modern football the way of the world it isn’t localised to our club and we’re relatively cheap in comparison to some. Not long back from New York I almost cried at the prices for Hockey and Basket ball tickets - I took the tour instead.

There’s that 😂 but yes there underestimation has been our gain.

Sounds like Porto fan’s assessment of Abdul.

You suggested we go for Frank but yet an out of contract manager wouldn’t come here. Some on here have lost their minds.
-
Who had honestly heard of Luke Thomas like they have with Alves, Will has been hyped for years and you can see why. He’s been kept around the 1st team by Enzo for a reason. I’m sure we’ll know come July (with hopefully a new manager) where his development lies. It wouldn’t be surprising if he is kept around the 1st team. The most important thing is getting him on a long term contract as he’ll not be going out on loan if he has a year left, if that’s true.
-
We clearly have an asset here. Hope he has a good tournament.
-
A nut case wide boy chairman living out football manager with his scatter gun approach to recruitment and yet some still blame Cooper. He did well to manage that situation.
-
He probably is being considered. I’d imagine we really can’t afford to spend millions on a manager buy out. He’s (Corberan) clearly the best option but maybe not the cheapest option. We’ve know for a while how shafted we are due to PSR.
-
He definitely isn’t the best choice. The latest when your smiling podcast goes through the rumoured likely candidates with the analyst Dominic Wells. Corberan comes out as a very good fit. Whatever our opinions are mean zilch if the powers that be know best.

The way I look at this based on @LinekersLugs vague connection to the club I’d imagine this was based on something he heard and that he lumped on. Without upsetting @Finnegan too much as I agree with how betting works and it’s beyond annoying when some think it means anything. Maybe @LinekersLugs knows something and it’s Cooper or he is pulling lots of peoples peckers.

I would take exciting attacking football. Last year let’s face wasn’t that. If the club go for more of the same we’ll get spanked week in week I’m not sure any fan wants that. A little pragmatism is required to try at least to stay up.
-
Yeah sorry if it’s Garcia then the hierarchy have lost the plot.

What Babs said. ✅

Some on here think we have huge options and can afford to take a massive risk on relatively unproven foreign managers. We’re broke, haven’t got a pot to piss in so if it’s Cooper the rational will be pragmatism and working on a limited budget. My first choice would be Corberan but if the talk in the press is we can’t even afford his buyout (after getting Enzo money) we’re scraping the barrel. We are where we are still paying for the bad decisions.
-
Just look a Forest fans reaction, they were gutted and were more miffed at the chairman. We could a lot worse and if it’s about doing the best with what you got he is that type of manager. An extreme departure away from Enzo’a rigid style. Personally, Corberan seems he can get a tune out of little resource but think he’s style while flexible will get the juices flowing.
-
Enzo did a very good job for us and he doesn’t leave with a bitter taste. But it’s entirely unwarranted he gets the Chelsea job yet, I think he’ll have wanted to leave after his open the air talks with our board and probably can’t believe his luck. But the Chelsea job is a huge step up and it could go horribly wrong for his career. Trusting our board to get his replacement and the long list over other things they need to get right this summer is hard to feel confident they’ll get right.

If you post this on Twitter Dan you’ll get Graham Brock slide into your DM’s telling you how wrong you are.

West Ham finished 9th. Ahead of the likes of Palace (who had a great year) and the best run club on the planet, Brighton. And that’s after spending less than they received. He always seems to outperform everyone else’s expectations. We could do a lot worse than hard fought consolidation in the premiership. But like some have said we probably can’t even attract the likes of Moyes. Some on here think Enzo’s compensation will solve all our problems. Unless the club go for it we’ll see further sales and scraping the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the recruitment. Some moan that Corberan isn’t good enough or list likes of Potter, they definitely need to start managing their expectations. Ipswich keep their in demand manager our manager jumps ship after publicly coming out stating he was unhappy with actions of the board and with likely impending points deduction, he knows what’s coming.

McKenna will end up at Brighton. We’re competing with Ipswich.
