  1. Getting Sensi would have been stupid without the sales. I’d imagine the club had no intention so late on, they knew they weren’t selling anyone for the funds they needed and knew they were tipping over the edge with wages.
  2. Especially when they could be agreeing deals now. Players like Kristiansen and Soumaré both had agreements in place and lo and behold both clubs won’t pay, we’ve known that for months. We hear nothing further about a renegotiation and agreement. They’re the players you know you’ll sell regardless of where we end up. They’ll no doubt be waiting until they know what league we’re in before starting anything. The clubs only tactic is to leave it to the last minute/ hold out for higher offers and and pray for the best. I don’t see how we have the capability as an organisation to get things done in a short space of time.
  3. Another good performance. Scratch that a superb performance.
  4. Some of our fans are bloody moronic. You don’t know anything about his injury and doubt you have the first clue about Biology even at GSCE level. Maybe just the support the lad rather than the typical unfounded negative knee jerk reactionary brain dead nonsense.
  5. He deserves the chance. People seriously need to realise how bad Rodger’s man management was. He was treated so poorly. He isn’t a world beater but the lad is so comfortable on the ball and we need to plan for next year. I bet Enzo would have wanted this. With the turnover and FFP considerations this makes sense, as long as he isn’t offered a silly amount, then he’s a decent option for most premier league team squads.
  6. Play whoever is the better player, or maybe he’ll play on Tuesday. Enzo know’s what he’s doing. Not all signings work out and you don’t just play someone if it’s not the best choice. We expected he’d be the main man (I for one did), maybe the injury hasn’t helped. If Enzo believes Nelson has what it takes to step up in the premier league you give him as much game time as possible otherwise it’ll pointless next year when we have to loan him out.
  7. Most people won’t be gifting their grandchildren anything on a monthly basis, presumably until they die. For those that can afford to, gifting is a good way to mitigate IHT and help your family out but isn’t relevant to your standard of living. There is a small percentage of society that this report seems to be looking at and it isn’t the vast majority of the general public.
  8. We’re going to beat them, our confidence will be sky high….
  9. The point can definitely be made that both Barnes and Kasey all of a sudden took their chances when it didn’t seem like they’d make it. Barnes is clearly an outstanding player and what he does do he does brilliantly (although very limited) and that year he rip it up and we then gave him a shot and served us well. Technically Kasey isn’t quite on his level from an attacking sense but with five goals he is only 4 goals off Harvey’s haul that season and I think he’ll surpass that. His output is comparable in all fairness! But as a break out season he is doing well already and I think he looks like he is improving and learning. Will he step up in the premier league like Harvey did, not so sure but then again I didn’t expect him as a first teamer at this club. Enzo sees something in him and I for one thought he did well in that 8 role.
  10. Abdul always changes the dynamic. With two wingers they need to keep quiet, we’re simply better going forward with him in the team. He creates a lot of chances. Doyle starting to look fitter. Daka just the best in our system. Nelson is like a new signing, got to be in Enzo’s trusted 1st teamers now. Get him as much game time as possible so he is ready if we get promoted.
  11. Something clearly isn’t working and it isn’t just the utter shambles that again we witnessed last night, it’s the not the first time. The amount of staff turnover within other parts of the organisation is a red flag, we definitely need reorganisation. Vichai ultimately made tough choices quick and decisive but it was clear the system that got us success was structured around an efficient team under NFP and he trusted that. Whilst that’s not a call for big nige to come back it clearly worked. Maybe Rudkin has control of too much or he’s just not fit for purpose. We’ll never know the ins and outs so no point defending the ifs and buts we must and can do better.
  12. Percy now confirming it’s off. One fecking transfer. Still amateurish.
  13. No wonder the sensi medical is taking so long.
  14. Think this is fair. I remember a groan (this is where Tanner then tweeted) and Praet rather than go forwards went back. This wasn’t an innate get it forward via a long ball groan but the go back rather than forward approach we seem to take more often than not. We can definitely be more positive under enzos philosophy and don’t immediately cautiously try and hold onto a lead once you score and invite pressure it’s an unnecessary change in mind set. What annoys me was the insistence to go right when we had two players open in space on the left, a few fans got fed up with that and not calling for the ball to be aimlessly lumped up, which a lot lazily insinuate is the case. Personally think Enzo is doing a superb job considering the mess we were in and we’re on course to get promotion. And I have found my love again for going to watch the team. Why wouldn’t you with all those wins! But Enzo would be wise not to appreciate why some people may be groaning or leaving early. Could it be the goals we keep conceding late recently or goals from set pieces, the cautious approach we revert to at times - obvious factors which he could work to address or understand that while winning those moments will get a negative response from the crowd. I love the uplift from the crowd when we start driving to come back into the game and the players feed on that and subsequently get a goal.
  15. He would love even after all this time that he is fondly remembered for that.
  16. Yunus. We wouldn’t be replacing KDH stats in two days. Southampton, Ipswich and Leeds must be collectively praying our board let this happen.
  17. It’s safe to say no one has a first clue of the details of the contract, especially when it comes from Fabrizio who seems to change the details on an hourly basis.
  18. A well run club like Brighton don’t let their prized asset go during the January transfer window at the last minute, exactly what they didn’t do with Caicedo last January, they waited until the summer with European football secured.
  19. January transfer window will likely lead to a higher fee, premiums are usually always payed as team get desperate, summer window has always been different . We should not be entertaining the idea of selling our best player in this window, if we want to be playing premier league football next year. Likewise if we sell arguably the best player in the league we would no way be getting value for money in finding a replacement, it can’t be done with 3 days left of the window, the reason why it take a stupid amount he isn’t worth to buy him. Maguire was never worth £80m, the club can do it, the club just have to stick to their guns and realise promotion and keeping your best interest player will be worth a lot more than what Brighton will be willing to pay.
  20. This. Making the deal now or at season end with the same accounts period won’t make any difference. Selling your best player will make a difference to chances to get back to the prem and our subsequent income stream. And if it’s that bad we won’t be spending a lot and any player we do get in won’t be replacing his stats, not in January in the last week of the window! I don’t doubt this being true and I am very worried that once again our club could be that short sighted and cautious that they’ll jump at this chance. If we keep him we go up IMO.
  21. It would appear f@cking around over £2m for a crocked player has shown a ruthless well run club how desperate we are. And enzo isnt lying about needing to sell to bring one in as he is openly saying in the press, you almost sense his annoyance about it too.
  22. If we sell now We’re NOT going up. 9 goals and 9 assists there is no way we’re replacing that.
  23. Enzo just said nothing is imminent without a sale.
  24. Some people seem to forget he came into the side out of desperation by Rodger’s and did well. His development since has been mismanaged. He’ll do very well up there a solid defensive full back!
  25. It’s really stupid on his part. And only adds to the bizarre senseless things he get up to off the pitch. And here’s me thinking fatherhood and matured him a little bit. On the pitch he is doing fine and a really important part of the squad. He’s a silly tw@t for doing what he did and I would say in general wider society there is still an immature attitude towards drink driving.
