I’m laughing but well done 👏🏻

Exactly my feelings, I’ve taken my children and grandchildren there and revisited a few times, just myself and my wife. Absolutely loved it 👍

I had a crippling migraine whilst driving in Belgium late at night in pouring rain, had to stop as couldn’t see anything other than bright hazy light, head throbbing followed by vomiting. Wife took over the driving and we went straight to hospital (I thought I was having a stroke). They examined me and came to the conclusion that I needed glasses… Turned out that my migraine was bought on by my deteriorating eyesight coupled with the darkness and rain. Confirmed by ophthalmologist when home who prescribed glasses for driving. I put it to the test by driving without them and within 10 minutes my head pounds and flashing lights appear. Never happens when I wear them. Never had a migraine before this and never want one ever again… Horrendous experience.

Just remember, alcohol is forbidden unless in licensed places (or private accommodation) Balloon trips, paragliding or desert safari are available if that’s what you’re after but there’s heaps of cultural sights to see. The Medina (the old town which is a Unesco World Heritage Site) is vast, labyrinthine alleyways open up to squares with stalls everywhere, very touristy in places, very peaceful in others, some beautiful architecture and the odd oasis of green gardens, bustling with colour and smells of smoke and food, (eat where the locals are eating) definitely worth a visit. Jamaa el Fna is the main square and very busy at times but you can easily eat here as there are many open food stalls, although some of it is quite exotic (sheep head, snail soup etc.). Walk about 20 minutes south to the Kasbah district which is a residential area within the historic walls, again lots worth seeing. I’m rambling and last visited about 11 years ago so memory not so good, @FoxesDeb and Google will give you lots more info.

That’s fantastic, don’t forget to take a look at the Jardin Majorelle, not sure what it’s like this time of year but in high summer it’s an amazing place, really calming and peaceful,10 degrees cooler than everywhere outside. Home to many endemic birds (if that interests you). There’s also the Berber museum attached to the same building which is really interesting. Have fun 👍

@FoxesDeb How was it?

Loved The Mighty Wah back in the day, have loads of live and bootleg recordings somewhere, might have to dig them out now 👍

Never mind the towns, devastating for the wildlife… Just coming into breeding season for our sea birds now, all dependant on sea life.

Not sure where this is but I’ve seen these in France and I think their planning regulations state that new supermarkets have to have a percentage of parking covered in panels like this. On a similar note: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c2l049zkvezo

First of all, congratulations on finding a way through all of this. You are incredibly strong and a credit to yourself. I sincerely hope that you can go from strength to strength going forward and be successful in whatever endeavour you choose to pursue. Also, thanks for sharing such a personal story, very courageous of you.

Nobody changed the batteries recently 😂

It’s such a dilemma, wanting Elon to crash and burn but also wanting SpaceX to be successful… The scientific community must be absolutely (morally at least) torn.

So, with the world on fire again I have retreated to my garden for some post winter/pre spring therapy. Snowdrops have been around for a few weeks and daffodils are coming out and I’ve been pulling up rogue brambles and saplings, generally tidying. Ravens have been performing an amazing aerobatic display (if you’ve never seen one you’re missing out) in the skies above, and I’m hearing the winter calls change to breeding/territorial song - Greenfinch, Siskin, Bullfinch, Song Thrush, Coal Tit all seen singing or gathering nesting material. My personal pièce de résistance was an hour spent watching a Firecrest singing and flitting about in a small stand of Blackthorn. The pond has become home to Toad and Frog spawn, much to the delight of the local Heron, and there are Badger digs and Fox droppings under the apple trees. I also noticed the beginnings of a rookery in a very large Ash tree, the natural spread of the local population taking place. If you can, I would recommend you getting out and spending some time in nature, it’s a great way to cleanse your mind.

So, our tenants moved out on Friday and I went to sort out keys, meter readings and deposit etc. The house was immaculate, he had even filled in nail holes where pictures hung and painted them! All of the appliances were cleaned, carpets and curtains look like new and the place looked fantastic. Agents in this week for appraisals so hopefully we can offload by the summer. The agent said there is a lack of property on the market in that area and these houses sell fairly easily and quickly. Lets hope 🤞

Been there and I sympathise wholeheartedly, especially with a property that you love. Don’t give up - one property we bought had similar issues bought to light by builder and other contractors, we nearly walked away but had a survey and it wasn’t subsidence at all and cost very little to put right. Another one definitely had subsidence, cost me £5k for an exploratory dig and a further £15k for underpinning (cost roughly from memory, back in 1994) but ploughed on, got the work done, relevant guarantees and the property was mortgageable. Your main worry, apart from cost, should be the upheaval of living in a place that requires so much work. Seriously stressful if you haven’t done it before but very rewarding when you succeed. Good luck and remember, favour fortunes the brave (sometimes )

One of the young people in the film is the son of Ayman Al-Yazouri, deputy minister of agriculture for Hamas (the government). There is no evidence that Ayman Al-Yazouri is a Hamas soldier or of any wrongdoing on either part (the BBC or Hamas) and apparently no money was passed onto Hamas. The film is hard hitting and has been initially criticized by a group of 45 Jewish journalists (allegedly) and by Israel - they obviously don't want the horror of the occupation and bombing to be shown. There are also hundreds of prominent Jews supporting the release of the film and condemning the BBC for pulling it from iPlayer.

I test drove a Jaguar I-pace. It was pretty luxurious, leather everything, heated everything, heads up display, 360 degree camera etc. The only thing I felt, probably because of how quiet it was, was that I noticed every other noise around me, other cars, road noise and traffic. It wasn’t bad at all and I’d probably adjust really quickly, it was just a little strange (and very pleasant).
