One thing you could use this for us to push for certified training in a field you’re interested in. “I think this shows I’m capable of XYZ, could I please go on this training course”. Very non confrontational and a win:win, you get something in your CV you can use in the future and the company gets a better skilled employee. I’ve found places are more likely to allocate pre-set aside training budgets more than find cash for a one off bonus. This and use this to give yourself the self belief you can achieve more. Sounds like the main limiting factor is in your mind so believe in yourself and know your own worth 🙏🏻

Only build would be to be clear about what you want out of it and be realistic about what you can get. Yes it’ll save them a lot, realistically you’re not going to get a £100k bonus. Do you want to follow the project around and not return to your day job? Use this as a catalyst for a new role? Get a spot bonus? Be entered for a company award? Yes you want more than a “well done” email, but think it’ll help to think what you want to get out of this.

Obviously stay in the league. But for me maybe more importantly is to rebuild the squad. Get the wage bill down and players tied to longer (but sensible) contracts. Sign some players who have the potential to improve and increase in value. Bolster the academy so we have the pipeline coming through in 2-4yrs. A massive part of our downfall was the contract/player recruitment department so we seriously need to get that functioning again.

Feel like they’ve been a little disingenuous with this. Their statement at the time was a little vague but basically now said “we don’t want him to play for us again… so will loan him out until it’s all blown over and we can sell him.”

Finally booked Japan for next Easter. Looking at 6 nights in Tokyo, 4 in Kyoto and 3 in Osaka, taking some day trips from all three. Just need the pound to stay strong vs the Yen for 12 more months now!

Might be wrong but feels like the press reports (/careful leaks) are to help Enzo achieve a new contract, more control and assurances. Given when his career ended and his managerial career to date I doubt he’s had a real top salary (or pay off!). He’s also clearly not happy after the Jan window and has openly sought talks. Right now he’s heading into negotiations with a strong hand so you’d assume (and I think hope) that he’s successful.

Even if it does stand for F-fin Bull Sh*t, there’s no need to ironically stamp those kits with it.

Shaping up to be a very tough play offs for all involved. On paper Leeds are the strongest of the four (finishing third!), but momentum can play a key factor so all to play for for all four teams. Personally I'm looking for three teams to be worse than us next season, so would prefer a West Brom/Norwich than a Leeds/Southampton to go up.

Will do, early days but looking at 2wks and a combo of Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nara (and no doubt so other things I’ve not worked out yet!). No idea what order, how long in each place, if we do them all etc. Then there’s the rather large unanswered question of cost!!

Thinking of going to Japan next Easter to see the cherry blossom and generally sightsee. Will have two teenage kids with us so will need a mix of culture, being outdoors and stuff “that’s not for boring old people”. Anyone done similar and have any tips?
