28. Never played outside of Italy. Poor injury record. Had to drop deeper recently as it sounds like he doesn’t have the athleticism to play further up the pitch any more. Doesn’t sound like a midfielder well suited to the pace of the game in England. That said I’ll trust the opinion of someone who has extensively scouted him, watched him play or even watched a YT vid over my own given that I’d never heard of him 5 mins ago!

Think what this shows is that the need for a 20 goal striker isn’t actually there to be a Prem team. On average about 3 teams a season have one which means 14 other teams stay up without one! Maybe when football was a 442 game, your wingers crossed it and you had the big man up front supporting a 9 as your main goal threat. Then you needed one. Now as football has evolved I’d expect our wide forwards and 8s to contribute goals meaning from the front man even 12-15 could be a very good return. No idea if the stats back this up!

Fairly certain we don’t have an option to buy nor would Chelsea want to sell him (but it’s Chelsea so who knows!). Probably more realistic if we go up that we could get another season long loan for him so they see how he performs in the Prem.

Watching Havertz bumble about in the box made me appreciate Cannon even more. Nothing overly fancy just quick well struck efforts with good striker instincts. Very early days but will be interesting to see how his career pans out over the next few seasons.

Interesting that Enzo played him as the left 8 in the cup, knowing with Albrighton it’d be a good opportunity to exploit his aerial presence attacking crosses at the back post. Thought he was ok yesterday, not amazing, not dreadful, decent 6-7/10 performance. Wasn’t keen on him over-playing an injury and he was reluctant to take it on his right foot a few times, always trying to cut into his left which became a bit predictable. Seems likeable though and pretty keen so he’s someone I really want to do well for some reason!

Tbh I’m more concerned for the welfare of the kid in the background. Someone needs to stop feeding him skittles for breakfast!
