Of all the players out of contract in the summer he’s the one I’d most like to keep (with respect paid to Vardy and Albrighton). However a similar view is probably also held by opposing managers and scouting departments. I’d be amazed if we manage to keep him tbh.

Seems very reasonable. If I were in charge of the PL, I’d means test our points deduction based on how close to Spurs we finish. The closer we are the more points we lose. Only fair!

Just reading this thread, if ever there was an industry in need of very serious reform it’s the English house buying market. Far, far too many nightmare stories and a process beyond complication. Funny what a difference a manager and change of position can make. In the summer I'd have been happy to get a fee for him and his contract extension looked like madness. Now I'm borderline disappointed when he's not in the team! That inverted RB role just suits him so well.

Both winning and losing are habits you can fall into so was a strangely important game tonight. So many great performances with Vesty, Hamza, Coady as stand outs. Special mentions to Jakub, Fatawu and Marcal who definitely grew into the game after understandably playing it safe early on after his last match. Have often wondered how much of our league position is having better players vs the coaching and tactics. Think tonight showed a massive part of it is the latter which is really encouraging for the future. Hoping some of the positivity carries through to Saturday and we put in a game winning performance in front of a buoyant crowd!

Added so much to his game this season. He’s always had aggression but it’s focused now. Improved his passing, pressing, pace (somehow!) and overall gameplay. Gone from a liability to consistently performing when called upon.

Surprised he wears black boots, feel he has the skill for white, orange or even bright green.

Would that mean that our FFP position maybe isn't that bad and we can afford to pay the fee for Fatawu this year?

I'll be honest, I've not looked at the league in a while and take little notice of results other than than the few around us. But in my mind, Boro were about 6th, they're actually 13th (albeit with some games in hand)!
