If it is Cooper we better hope for an easy start to the season. A big points deduction and a low points tally in the first 5 games and it’ll be hard for him to turn the fans around. Get a few early decent results and his Forest connections will be long forgotten.

Fwiw, I thought the football last season was very entertaining... when the opposition played into our hands. We'd move the ball around trying to goad them out of their shape and when they took the bait and pressed we looked dangerous. It was when teams just sat back and kept their discipline I think we struggled to adapt, and still just passed it around with little penetration and open to counters. If the new manager can keep the good but also find a way to score goals another way we'll be laughing. Interestingly, Man City and Arsenal are 1st and 3rd for set piece goals last season whereas we were 15th. An obvious area to improve as it's a way to get a goal and force the opposition to come out and play us. Although being lower in the league will also help with this!

Fair play to him. He’s come in, done the job asked of him, started the squad reshaping, restored belief and left for a job a large proportion of managers would like. Would his style have worked for us in the Prem? Could any decent manager have gotten us up with our squad? Could we have kept him if we weren’t in a PSR hole? We’ll never know. Thanks for the promotion, best wishes, now for us it’s onto the next chapter. Let’s hope we appoint with wisdom and vision.

Well it’s all speculation but by all accounts he’s challenged the club on a few things, Top has conceded some points, then a week later he’s keen to join Chelsea. I’m just reacting to this, if this isn’t appropriate we may as well close the entire transfer forum and this thread and only react to facts.

Well he’s certainly not denied it and according to Romano is “super keen”. Obviously it’s all speculation but all points to him having his head turned. And up to a point who can blame him!

Even if he stays he’s gone and flirted with the first pretty girl who has showed him a bit of leg, so clearly isn’t faithful. Tbh I’m coming round to the idea of him leaving now as opposed to another time when someone else comes knocking or we have to pay him off.

Lots of positives to his game, in particular the ability to calmly finish, but probably lacks the pace or 1v1 skills to play wide in the Prem. Not exactly sure where he’ll end up playing, maybe he’s a RWB. I’d give him a new (reasonable) contract and have him in the squad next season but definitely not as a starter.
