  1. I know this a random ask but any chance we can actually keep posts in the transfer forum to be about transfers and not opinions on players WE ALREADY OWN? Every time I check about an apparently outgoing player, it’s all - this guy is ****, his wages need to be off the books, they never contributed last season so get rid, can’t pass or head. Yeah, we get all that. Maybe keep your slating / opinion about a player we already own in the main forum where we have… threads about players we already own…? Anyway, thanks for reading and carry on regardless… 😂
  2. I thought he did ok today. Willing runner, pressing and working for the team. He was incredibly isolated today, which was a huge problem last season as well. We also missed some opportunities to release it to him more quickly as well We need to get the front players closer together.
  3. Good start but then wheels came off fast (sounds familiar?). Some good ideas and positive ag first but then we just got sloppy and gave the ball away far too cheaply and got ourselves unnecessarily into trouble (as far as I could tell because often it was off camera thanks to amazing production efforts from the tv coverage). I was a little disappointed that subs didn’t come sooner, especially for Castagne. KDH tried to do a bit too much with the ball - a bit like last year but I’m sure he’ll get that improved over the season It’s clear we need more attacking threat though
  4. He’s been poor, normally much better. Commentary is woeful though and so unwilling to call it as it’s really happening. Terrible mistakes brushed off with “oh well, it’s preseason”. can’t wait to enjoy a season of this coverage…
  5. That would a be a lot sh1t surely?
  6. Typical FoxesTalk, some other random player connected to a club one of our players was linked to but then it fell through so we refresh, people get all excited to read of some transfer movement and then it’s just people back and forthing on a guy not leaving and who may or may not be part of the team this season
  7. I think Ward is a good number 2…. ….it’s just when he had to be the number 1 that it becomes a problem… *gets coat*
  8. I’ve had it too. Still SOARING like a Dragon
  9. I think that’s on our end. Club “too busy”
  10. Not just Merson. Can’t wait to hear some of our fans in person or on the RL phone in! He’s gonna be called Madividudu isn’t he?
  11. Or Rudkin is having a jolly in Thailand and Singapore and apparently “can’t work”?
  12. <insert hopefully that means he signs Vestergard joke here>
  13. Maybe their standards when he was a youngster are different from us being in the Championship? Players also mature in different ways. Youri is 26 and people are saying he’s already past his peak due to the amount of football he’s played. I feel like Mavididi’s record in Ligue 1 has shown he’s got the potential for what we need
  14. I think Mavidid falls squarely into this category and the type of player we have historically signed and had kick on. He’s only just turned 25 and grew up through the Arsenal youth ranks but then decided to try his arm abroad in Italy and now France. He’ broke through in an ok Montpellier team and has done well in ligue 1 but got injured but is now back. His attributes tick a lot of boxes on what we need, fast, direct, eye for goal, sbows good aggression and willing. Based on your parameters we would never have signed Albrighton because he was too old or hadn’t done it, same with Simpson who was a middling RB. Not every signing can be Mahrez or Kante (who seem to be your yardsticks). This guy is a clear fit, brings what Barnes brought and is affordable and looks like a fit for our playing style and the league we’re now in
  15. @Ric Flair would end up like Randy Marsh when he “saw a ghost”
  16. Seems like he gives us options. Would he play the 4 or the 3 in the 343? If we get Madividi I can see him being the 3 making this guy the 4 then Doyle goes to the 3 and then Ricky goes 4 on other side but then we need a 3. make sense? LOL
  17. Good convo! 1. Not sure I’m getting let down or giving too much thought to it. Just more felt he was in a different spot. We are also probably still paying him more than he’d get in Italy or Turkey. Maybe if Fulham come in we shall see… 2. Maybe he doesn’t want to go but he’s a hugely saleable asset and I think we are probably making a business decision on him as much as he’s making a decision. Still think Newcastle is odd for him and will be interesting to see how much game time he gets there. I actually don’t have hard feelings towards him but would also want to see how “injured” he’s really been in preseason. Actions speak louder than words… 3. Haha, don’t think anyone is getting an LCFC tattoo. We’re the only ones committed enough for that! I’ve been wrong many times before and maybe wrong on this one but have an inkling he’ll be with us come deadline close - unless we get a massive offer (which won’t happen). Not like I’m gonna get his name on a shirt (unless we want him to leave and then I will… my track record of Schlupp and Madders among others demonstrates that!)
  18. He’ll fit in well with the Newcastle lifestyle then…
  19. I think you just unraveled @Saxondale’s whole story! Hahah
  20. Are you talking about Thomas or Giles there? LOL
  21. To continue the we are mini Man City narrative, is Giles more of a Zinchenko type player? Does seem odd that VK is getting kicked down but maybe he and Madividi down the left make sense for overlap and tucking in. I wonder if Timmy will continue down the right?
  22. Feels like a good calculated risk to me. Solid performer in Ligue 1, good for this level price and talent wise and has attributes other members of the squad don’t have. Sensible transfer.
  23. A few reasons. Number 1: Look at the date of the article it was written before Maresca signed and he had no idea on his place or in the team or where we were going. Number 2: have you seen or heard him say anytime else since? Number 3: Look at his attitude during games so far this season. Looks committed to me and would Maresca be starting him and making him key to our system if he was on the periphery? Look at Ward. Not had a minute and we’ve recruited over him. The guy is not mucking about. Overall, maybe I am being optimistic but the guy seemingly had no idea of his life or career a month ago. Maybe that’s the case, maybe it’s not. From what I’m seeing I have the impression that he’s not actively pushing to leave. Hope that clarifies where I’m coming from. Cheers!
  24. Or it’s just how we roll!
  25. I love how the official video is about as good quality as someone making a bootleg copy of a film by using their phone in the cinema! You’d think for 100 mill we could have put in a camera gantry for our main training pitch! 😂
