I get sticking with a winning team, but...Forest are not Southampton. If Ayew is out left, Thomas is in for a torrid time today.
-
It seems so odd, doesn't it? Foxes Never Quit as our motto, 5000-1 win, a multicultural city that gets somewhat looked down on compared to other Midlands neighbours... It would have been so easy to position ourselves as the perennial underdogs, at a minimum, who always seek to punch above our weight. That doesn't mean we'd need to think of ourselves as ever lesser, just always a club seeking a way to keep fighting against the elite. Honestly, the marketing is appalling. What even was "Fearless" after all anyway, when our motto was right there?

I thought this too. I'm sure he played in midfield at youth level too. I miss his cutbacks. That always seemed to be his trademark when he first broke into the team: rather than crossing aimlessly he'd get forward and cut the ball back just in front of the box for a waiting runner. Agree he does need to improve his strength, but he is much better in the air than people realise I think.

CaughtOffside reporting Lazio are still interested in signing Faes after considering it in January. Their source was Sport Witness, whose source appears to be Corriere dello Sport...but I can't find their original source, if it can even be called that 🫠 Apparently valued at €20m / £17m. I'd snap anyone's hands off for that, but I doubt an Italian team like Lazio could afford it. EDIT: Mods feel free to merge into the main thread - it wasn't appearing when I searched for it before so started a new thread!

We are very lucky we've got him should Mads leave in the summer. Which is probably best for all parties involved.
-
Blimey, didn't realise Cardiff ended up finishing bottom. Tough experience for Alves, but good for him overall. Goal or assist every 167 minutes is nothing to be sniffed at for the worst team in the league.
-
Subbed off on 33 minutes, which is a shame. But as @moore_94 says, they're already 3-0 down.
-
Honestly, I would love us to become the club that picks up rough diamonds and polishes them again. It's just a bit fun, isn't it?

Ruud van Nistelrooy - New Manager - Official

You're right, but even an acknowledgement could give us some (albeit likely false) hope of some accountability somewhere. This just feels like they don't even realise relegation has happend yet. -
Although it would also be funny if the announcement was hidden halfway through the ad, for some reason. ...yup, that's it, too much FoxesTalk for me today.
-
I mean the cynic in me thinks theu are posting that ad now knowing every fan and the neutrals will be bouncing on every post thinking it's a sacking announcement. Yay engagement with sponsors etc etc.
-
Never underestimate the power of a narrative in football. Plus, with that narrative (back-to-back-to-back, next stop PL, etc etc) they could probably justify a significant increase in sponsorship. They have one helluva headwind overall.
-
Ah Leeds. Apparently they are contemplating sacking Farke, despite promotion, because their owners are concerned about his poor track record in the PL. But Cifuentes doesn't have any record in the PL, so that would be weird. This I could see, and would make sense for Cifuentes and WBA.

Could be Norwich, maybe?

Could use some work, but as a one-off... 🎶 Vardy had a dream To climb the football leagues He came from Sheffield Now he's one of our own (One of our own) The ace in the pack Our GOAT in attack Champions of England You made us sing that. 🎶

The only objective for the rest of this season has to be get him to 200 goals. Hell, imagine if he managed to surpass Owen's record as the true end to his shit housing career with us? I honestly don't think I'd care if we concede 6 in every game remaining if it meant he scored enough to beat that record. (Also how funny that he mentioned everyone but Rudders!!)

Thanks - unfortunately just shows an article from three months ago rather than the current article! Not that anything has changed to be fair 😅 -

Does anyone have an alternative to 12 foot ladder? Doesn't work for me anymore, or archive.org and the like. -
Liverpool (H) - Pre-Match Thread (20th April)

A lovely thought, but I won't hold my breath 😅. If Liverpool are set to win the title with our game, he'll stay for the celebrations. If not, I bet he'll leave at half time. I'm only half joking. -

Surely he won't...I know it wasn't a winning team, but the team lineup against Brighton performed better than before. Fine to include him as a sub (and use the excuse that he's only just back from injury), but surely he won't just chuck him back in... (I am resigned to the fact that Ruud will do just that and exasperate us all, but **** it, what else do we have to hope for at this point 😅) -
I'm not completely against Martin being our next manager...but it doesn't seem particularly smart? Purely from an optics point of view, this would mean we have been relegated, and then hire the manager sacked by the only club worse than us, points-wise (although watch this space), this season. That seems like a backwards step unless Martin has made significant improvements while out of work.

The strangest thing for me is the lack of talk about the youth sides. In a time when the first team are doing terribly, why not talk up the youth side of the club and get people interested/excited for the future? Since they're "homegrown", a number of the lads are from the local area too, meaning you tie the club back into the community and give us something to be inspired by (or at least get behind). Tip of the iceberg though, I know. And those cultural days are absolutely fine for broader events like Eid etc. But Greek Independence Day? That's purely to honeytrap new followers. Nothing about the club or brand even. Those posts could be posted by anyone, any club. Soulless.

We all love Kingy. Poor guy does not deserve that hospital pass whatsoever.

Going down can only be a good thing if a) we focus on developing/building our young players (El Khanouss, Alves, Fatawu, Nelson, Stolarczyk) and b) shed the "chaff" we often speak off. Thankfully Ward and Iversen will be out of contract, but it's the likes of Vestergaard, Ayew, and BDCR that we have no means of shifting. And that worries me that the manager in place will end up using them rather than being forced to rebuild properly.
