Guest ttfn Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 That's your opinion. I thought he did really well. Broke up a lot of passes. Harried players all the time and got up in attacking positions. We had a midfielder who played far worse - loose passes inability to get back, unable to harry players and even not putting free kicks on target. Against teams like Burnley you need legs in midfield. Let's be honest they were both as bad as each other. Even Mr Reliable Kingy only completed 67% of his passes. The game was a total mess and certainly not one you could use to espouse the importance of any of our midfielders apart from King.
ScouseFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 4 wins in a row, class players playing for each other, the manager and our fans and some people still just want to have digs at "he who shall remain un-named" . some people say this place is pathetic sometimes. they're wrong. it's pathetic all the time from some people.

For me Drinky ran hard and made the midfield a mess. That was to our advantage in this game - before the match I was worried they'd beat us in the midfield. I think it shows that some midfielders need a slow game with time to knock the ball around. It wasn't about passes today it was about stopping the opposition getting control. Drinky did that well. Sadly our forwards didn't get the balls they needed to be so productive but our defence was solid. Morgan and Huth (and most of the time Wasyl) controlled the back well. I thought that Albrighton again played very well defensively - better than the defender that came on to replace him. Albrighton and Schlupp as our WBs could really work well.

Come on. Even you've got to admit when your favourite player has a stinker. Today he could've easily cost us 2 goals and that free kick from the edge of the area was a disaster - Mahrez would've drooled over that. Your man has had a run of good games recently but admit in this he was poor, he's not up to a fast paced game.
ScouseFox Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 didn't watch or follow the game so can't really comment on individual performances personally. all i will say though is all the sensible posters in the post match thread and the ratings thread have the midfield as king best, the other two average. and we won so who really cares. then some people (you) think drinkwater played well. that's cool. then amazingly (and surprisingly!) you use it to have a go at cambiasso for no reason. played.
Bryn Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 I'd give him a rest personally but the management have more data to make a decision with so let's see what they do.

Charl91 Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 The problem was that we pretty much entirely by-passed the midfield, by hoofing it up to Vardy and Ulloa. None of our midfield players got much chance to shine.
Suffolk exile Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 He struggled to have much influence today - but still put in a shift that would shame many midfielders 10yrs younger than him. Be different against Chelsea!

Durnerz Posted 25 April 2015 Posted 25 April 2015 Midfield was completely bypassed by both sides today, not really a day for the likes of Cambiasso and co to shine. That said, I thought Drinkwater was miles better than most other times hes featured this season.
