RutlandFox91 Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Hopefully this piece on Sky Sports will dispel the popular belief that Leicester are "big spenders" http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/9816421/man-utd-showing-poor-value-in-performance-and-wage-stakes
richardsfoxes Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 You realise that was when were in the championship right? Look at the wages and turnover, compare that to hull etc. We have SPENT alot for our turnover in the championship, Hull made 50M more than us last season and there is only 7-8M difference in wages.
cc_star Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 QPR ('Arry's) wage bill was phenomenal, absolutely phenomenal. Interesting their turnover was higher than ours though and they have the same owner sponsorship model that we do, wonder if that was solely down to a year's parachute payments? Wonder what ours will be with the addition of Cambiasso, Ulloa & Huth? Think it will still be about 19th highest tbh, which will make 17th or higher finish an unbelievable feat
nnfox Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Interesting how it fairly accurately reflects the actual table with only a couple of major exceptions. You get what you pay for I guess.
Fox92 Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 We've haven't been "big spending Leicester" since Sven left. Anybody football fan with sense can see what Nigel has done off the field too.

Yeah, wage bill rather than transfer fees is the biggest correlation to league position, fergie had the 3rd highest wage bill and generally out-performed it, a couple of other teams often do like West Brom & obviously Southampton, Arsenal generally had 4th highest wage bill and often finished 4th, Spurs approximately 5th and so on ManUtd's massive spending, highest in Europe this season will no doubt reap rewards next season
RobHawk Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Does that wage bill of ours include all the promotion bonuses that we dished out?
Footballwipe Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Does that wage bill of ours include all the promotion bonuses that we dished out? Just about to say that, include £9.6 million of bonuses in our wage bill too?
dsr-burnley Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 Does that wage bill of ours include all the promotion bonuses that we dished out? Yes, under modern accounting rules (which make little sense) the bonuses for promotion, even though paid out of 14-15 income, have to be deducted from 13-14 profit. Burnley were the same, with £8m+ promotion bonuses.
Dan Posted 22 April 2015 Posted 22 April 2015 QPR's is an absolute disgrace. They are surely doomed if they go down this time.
