filbertway Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 The scout report did say one of their players was slightly better than Sunday League standard (Walshy's mate ), one not good enough and another overweight. Hoping for a nice draw and also hoping Bignot doesn't rest players again. Haha! Brilliant. No wonder they gave them a good game then if they were riled up by it. Yeah I don't see the point in resting players, if they're fit, play them. You only get some many chances to have a memorable FA Cup run at non league level. I don't think any of them should be wasted.
Grandad. Posted 27 September 2015 Posted 27 September 2015 I'm in a group text with him and we got it sent through on Thursday morning. Oh how we laughed & took the piss out of him. He took it well to be fair. "Sam Taylor, fairly tall (6 ft 1 inches approx), slow, strong" lol Not spoke to him properly yet, how did he play? He was deveasted in the morning and it was touch & go whether he'd play as his dog had to be put down. Laths (Oadby captain) played well apparently didn't he. In fairness, and I'm not saying this to be a wind up but the report was pretty spot on regarding him, but if he was a doubt to play then I can give him a bit of slack, but he was pretty poor yesterday. The captain did do well yeah, just lumps the ball and when you're defending most of the game he stands out more. Sealy came on after 20 minutes and did ok, wastes the ball so much though, especially when Oadby did get on the ball in the Solihull half.

Yeah he can be quite lazy, he won't run the channels and he hasn't got much pace. I've played up top with him and he's good to play with, holds it up well and brings you into play. Brady used thrive of him when they were at the Andrews together. That Jermain Gordon who came on is really bad and I don't know how he plays for Oadby. He would struggle to get into a Sunday team.
Grandad. Posted 28 September 2015 Posted 28 September 2015 Solihull drew the winners of Holbeach v Worcester in the Third Qualifying Round, game is October 10th at home, nice tie hopefully. Hopefully Holbeach will get through, their keeper scored the last minute overhead kick at the weekend to get the replay, will bring some attention to the game. Chorley away on Saturday, tough fixture with horrible fans.

Grandad. Posted 13 October 2015 Posted 13 October 2015 Solihull away to Worcester in an FA Cup replay tonight, winners to play Gateshead away in the next round.
isaidno Posted 14 November 2015 Posted 14 November 2015 Watching Lincoln vs Tranmere today. Taylor-Fletcher starting for Tranmere.
Leicesterpool Posted 6 December 2015 Posted 6 December 2015 Frustrating goalless draw at the Boro yesterday against Corby Town, the amount of times it hit the post was just unbelievable. Also a huge chance yesterday strength Boro's lead at the top with Solihull losing to Boston. Attendance was just over 700 but seemed like more for the atmosphere, the crowd actually sounded in good voice despite it being a 0-0 draw.
srevell580 Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Went to Lincoln v Halifax yesterday as couldn't make the trip to Anfield. Bit of a poor game...Halifax set up for the draw and Lincoln didn't have enough up front to break them down. In the end Halifax ended up nicking the win. The ref was terrible, the wind was atrocious both teams struggled with it and Lincoln look like they could do with recalling Liam Hearn from his loan at Barrow and a few more bodies in during the January window if they have any chance of making the play-offs.
Leicesterpool Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Boro lost yesterday to Solihull Moors to take us off top position, things were going well until the sending off happened for the boro, after that point Boro collapsed went on to concede three goals within the final half an hour, though Boro did get one back in the last minute via penalty. Another big game tomorrow as it's the big derby against Tamworth at LW, if anyone's looking for a fixture to go to then there's one consider.

I was there too. The ref wasn't as bad as the one the week before against Barrow. Lincoln seem very route one , Long ball towards Rhead all the while.

Lincoln seem very route one , Long ball towards Rhead all the while. The last time I managed to get down was the Braintree game when Tempest, Hawkridge, Hearn and Rhead all had a great game...bit different to yesterday's offering. You could see the long-ball to Rhead was ineffective especially the 1st half when Halifax were pushing him about and he was getting wound up. Last ten mins thought they could have salvaged a point with Wood's crossing from the right...couple of his crosses were very decent.
Fox92 Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Grimsby v Lincoln tomorrow. Could be interesting...
isaidno Posted 27 December 2015 Posted 27 December 2015 Grimsby v Lincoln tomorrow. Could be interesting... Would have gone but it's on Bt sport. Went last season.
Vicki Vixen Posted 28 December 2015 Posted 28 December 2015 Grimsby v Lincoln tomorrow. Could be interesting... How was the Grimsby v Lincoln game Fox92? I was at Raynes Park Vale v Chessington & Hook Utd in the Combined Counties Premier this morning. 11.30am kick off so they could save money not having to switch on the floodlights! Vale won it in injury time 3-2. Attendance 40.

I do like Grimsby though, hope they get promoted, and one of me good mates if from that area. It's tough around the lower leagues with all this bad weather though.

I also have a soft spot for Grimsby, not sure why. They were a good side in the 90s: Mendonca scored for fun, Paul Groves in midfield and Shakey at fullback.
isaidno Posted 29 December 2015 Posted 29 December 2015 Grimsby looked decent yesterday. Could have scored a lot more without the brilliance of Farman.
isaidno Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 Went to Lincoln vs Guiseley yesterday. First win in 12 games for Lincoln. Guiseley look a very poor team. Looks like the title is between Forest Green and Cheltenham after Grimsby lost yesterday.
Leicesterpool Posted 19 February 2016 Posted 19 February 2016 Off to watch Boro play Worcester City tomorrow, got a good record against them to be fair.
isaidno Posted 28 February 2016 Posted 28 February 2016 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=J_lHoD7AAbk Guiseley equalised when the ball was passed back to the keeper. Should have allowed Braintree to walk the ball in the net
Leicesterpool Posted 2 April 2016 Posted 2 April 2016 Talk at Nuneaton Boro this afternoon an old Leicester board name in Terry Robinson is coming in alongside an chinese consortium to buy out the club. Apparently Robinson was in the stands today. This is a good move for the club? Whispers suggest a deal is already done.
