Non-League Football 2015/2016

Another of my local sides, Sutton Utd, look like returning to the Confernece National after overturning a huge gap since Christmas. A solid 2-0 win yesterday against Ebbsfleet, who have been top for some time, in what was effectively the title decider. 3000+ in attendance.

Sutton has a beautiful 3G pitch. Anyone know if these are now allowed by the football league, or do clubs playing non-league on 3G have to replace them with grass if they go up to League 2?

They're not allowed in the football league.

I'd expect a large attendance for Coalvilles final game.  Home to top of the table Stafford who need a point to secure the title.  Given that Stafford had over 1200 fans for their last home game I'd imagine them taking a fair amount.

Hope they do it as the team challenging is the interestingly named Shaw lane aquaforce, a team who have gained 3 promotions in 3 seasons and I can only assume with that progress and having that name they are being bankrolled.

Boro lost to Boston today in a crucial game to get into the play offs and the end of the game some of the Boston supporters decided to run on the pitch to celebrate securing a play off position, yet they most have forgotten that Boro have got an game in hand plus there only four points in front. Celebrating little bit too soon I think.

Fight for the conf north playoffs goes to last day.

It is about time Boston went up, should be at least in the conference.

They'll get 2500 if they make playoffs i think

Boston have got a difficult trip though Stalybridge away who I think are unbeaten in their last three, Boro got an home against all ready relegated Hednesford and also Harrogate face all ready relegated Corby.

Big congratulations to Coalville today. Travelled to Shaw Lane to contest their play-off final.

A goal down at the hour mark, finished strongly and won 3-1. Equaliser from Nat Watson was excellent.

Makes up for a great deal of play-off misery in recent times!

Yep well done Coalville.

Heartbreak for Leicester Nirvana, they were top going into the final game and they won it but Kempston won 7-0 to win the league on goal difference.  Leicester Nirvana finish 2nd for the 2nd season running.

St andrews already promoted to step 5.

Hinckley won 5-1 at Littleton today to finish 4th in the Midland Football League Division One in their second season since the fan-owned phoenix club was formed. For those who haven't been they play up the road in Heather; nice set up and always enjoyable the few times I've been down this season. Just a shame a lot of their home games have clashed with City. Not sure if 4th will be enough for FA Cup qualification. It took 3rd last year but it can change season on season,

Did the original Hinckley split into 2 teams, leicester road being the other?

They did. It's very acrimonious. No love lost between the two clubs. Hinckley AFC are the official successor club and most fans follow them, but Leicester Road have the ground and most of the facilities. AFC own the bar at the ground. My understanding is that some of the people who were to blame for Hinckley united going under are heavily involved with Leicester Road, hence the antagonism.

Boston made the Playoffs. Unfortunately I'm at work and can't go...

Hope they go up

Boston lost against North Feriby. Shame because Lincoln need a local derby. Grimsby Vs Forest Green in the conference play off final. North Feriby vs Fylde, and Ebbsfleet vs Maidstone in north and South

Shame a decent ground, i hope one day Hinckley do return there.

North Feriby and Maidstone promoted to the conference

Glad to see maidstone on their way back, I remember Leicester playing them in the early 90's what a downward spiral they went on.

North ferriby were backed by hull's owner....so today was a good day for Hull....no barking from the dog and no smog either.

Grimsby on their way back to the Football League... Leading Forest Green Rovers 2-0 in the Conference final.

I bet Bilo will be all over this! :D How about an FA Cup draw at Blundell Park?

North Ferriby deserve major credit. Hull's owner disappeared at end of last season but the club clubbed together and convinced a lot of the players to stay on. Money wise they will get any money owed back next season with the big away followings from some clubs

The owners of Leicester Road, in my opinion, are a bunch of scrubbers.

Won their first silverware this year as well, the Jelson Holmes Senior Cup

Finished 5th in the end, hopefully more consistency and we'll finally get out this league!
