Could Nigel sue the owners for wrongful sacking?

Gary Lineker is a bit of a wet rag, so it's highly surprising to read him saying, "So, after not only getting LCFC promoted but pulling off the most miraculous escape in PL history, Pearson is sacked," "Those who run football never cease to amaze with their stupidity." "Can you kindly reinstate him like the last time you fired him?"

And since it's now clear NIGEL was sacked because of the actions of ANOTHER person, someone close to the owners needs to, have a word !!

You simply cannot sack someone from their job without good reason, and if you needed to convince a court, the articles of disbelief on this forum alone would weigh heavily in Nigel's favour.

Jamie Carragher, played at the highest level, has said, "And people ask why the modern player chooses punditry."

Punditry is a very poor substitute from being a manager.

In the modern age, managers get the sack way more than they ever did. It wouldn't be a bad thing if Nigel sued LCFC's owners on principal that the game needs to be run fairly, even at a business level.

I don't know. I don't know what to think.

I'm mainly just commenting to check that my new sig is appearing.

It is and it is muddy barvelous!

Lets hope NP sues them for every penny they're worth, then buys the club off them and re-appoints himself manager

Erm, but nigel wasn't sacked because of someone else's actions?

He was sacked because relationships with his superiors had become untenable for one reason or another. That in most businesses is a situation where you either suck it up and get on with it, or you part ways. The latter even more so in football. Whether or not those relationships became untenable because of the actions of his son is irrelevant.

They have legally ended his contract and paid him off

When infact they had plenty of grounds to dismiss him for breach of contract

Sorry to see him go , surprised ? Not a bit

"Sue for wrongful dismissal", do you know something the rest of us don't.

I wouldn't have thought the Thais have made this decision without any thought or on the spur of the moment.

No they have paid out the remainder of his contract Pearson hasn't walked more reason to show he hasn't quit because he is unhappy about his sons sacking

Nigel most likely had a rolling contracted which would be renewed on 1st July if he met performance targets, I'd guess that bringing the club into disrepute several times in a season means he failed in some of his targets and the contract was not renewed, nothing to pay up, no contract broken.

If as pointed out his contract has been paid up, then that's the end of it.

As for having no chance because the Thais believe their relationship is 'untenable' is a nonsense. You fight your case based on facts, not someones opinion.

What grounds did they have to sack him? Just because he accepted them, doesn't mean they're justified, could just mean that he didn't want any hassle going into his next role. 'Fundamental differences' and 'unviable' are words to best describe the position for us without telling us the pure facts. If he was re-instated, they'd tell us there was a 'misunderstanding', especially if the fans demanded he be offered his job back.
