ousefox Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I literally walked back from my night out and got home 2 minutes before it started. Very lucky! My mate got drenched.
ScouseFox Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 Slept through it. And I had my window open yeah same, the way my bedroom windows work i'm effectively outside bar a curtain too. didn't even notice anything.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I was woken up about 45mins ago by the worst storm I have ever seen. Never in 49 years has that happened before. None stop thunder and lightning for 30 mins and the heaviest rain I have seen. Only just thought wish i had got some pics. Down here we had two big ones, especially the second, around 1am. I stood at the back door, admiring the second storm, which lasted about 25 minutes. The poor dog was running up and down the stairs trying to escape it.
Larry_LCFC Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 Wish I had got out of bed and watched it. Had really overdone it on the strongbow and felt like shit
Bagworthblue Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 i've not seen constant prolonged flashes like that since my catwalk model days !!!
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 One clap of thunder in particular literally shook my house.
AKCJ Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I love a good storm. Only yesterday was I saying that I haven't seen one in ages too. Was a bit special, with I saw some forked lightening though.
BoneDog Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 It was epic. Everyone on our street said it was the loudest thunder ever and I agree. Obviously the thunder during the world catastrophes of the 14th and 8th centuries bc was worse but in our lifetimes this was definitely the loudest. I was stood at the bungalow bathroom window, with the lights off staring into the outside darkness whilst syphoning out some urine when there was an almighty flash and we've got no blinds just frosted windows and white nets. Made me jump and I thought thank the Lord there wasn't a rapist or murderer outside the window like on Only Fools and Horses cos the silhouette would have been scary. Got back in the living room and even the dog was praying. Edit : I say street when I mean cul-de-sac.
