sylofox Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I was woken up about 45mins ago by the worst storm I have ever seen. Never in 49 years has that happened before. None stop thunder and lightning for 30 mins and the heaviest rain I have seen. Only just thought wish i had got some pics.
Webbo Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 At the risk of repeating " I'm in Orlando you know" there must have been 7 or 8 thunderstorms since we've been here. When it rains it really rains. According to the weather man we had 2 inches of rain in an hour the other day and that's not unusual.
davieG Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 Yes it was bad in Leicester around 2 lighting up the sky the Mrs up but i've not managed to sleep at all.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 It was a good un, doesn't top one I witnessed in Boston MA some years ago though. The pressure was immense and there must have been a strike every 5 seconds
TOMBlcfc Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I always manage to sleep through them. Honestly had no idea there was a thunderstorm last night
Vacamion Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 Having a lie in today, I was woken not by thunder but by Thundercvnts - the flutes and drums of an Orange Walk. Some people around Glasgow think it's cool to celebrate a war 300 years ago in another country by blocking the road and making noise at 08:00. After lying awake for a few minutes being a bit miffed at the disturbance, my mood changed when their ProdGod decided to unleash* torrential rain, thunder and lightning on them. Have THAT, bigots. [*not what I actually believe]
deejdeej Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 It was a good one wasn't it! Was a sad git and stayed up for about an hour to watch it.
Rincewind Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I heard it but hid under my duvet and went back sleep. Look at it like a good shit. At least it cleared the air.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 It woke me up briefly but I was too knackered and pissed not to fall asleep again straightaway. Shame, I love a good storm
Mrfox452 Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I was scared. Just hid under my duvet... Honestly for a 21 year old, I am a right wuss.
Libertine Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 Genuinely thought the first bang I heard was a bomb going off. Was crazy.
Haydos Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 Left my windows and skylight open, thought the world was ending.
ithuriel Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I loved it, just stood at my bedroom window watching the downpour and the numerous lightning flashes
ithuriel Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I could not sleep well so I watched the show since I was feeling a little better than earlier yesterday evening. Either the heat had gotten to me or more likely some pain killers disagreed with me because I was wrecked, actually felt dizzy in HMV and then was close to collapsing on the bus home, was pale and drenched in sweat and still feel wiped today.
Hollism Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I was still up. 1.30-2.30 in was mental here in Blaby. Actually shook the flat once or twice. The cat was bricking it
Ian W LCFC Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 It was pretty impressive, probably the heaviest I've seen.
Freesolo Posted 4 July 2015 Posted 4 July 2015 I was woken up about 45mins ago by the worst storm I have ever seen. Never in 49 years has that happened before. When i lived in Singapore there was mental thunder and lightening almost every night with rain like you have never seen, sometimes it wouldn't rain for 5 days at the heat at night was unbearable with no AC you would pray for a storm to cool the air down.
