EnglishOxide Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 NPs loyalty to his team was evident. They always re-paid that with 100% every week. Even the fringe players like Tony K, Wood and Hamer never kicked up much fuss. My question is, do people believe Ranieri is capable of maintaining that spirit or will it disintegrate? Worse case scenario is that players start putting in transfer requests because they are not being rewarded for previous seasons successes or being given a fair crack of the whip in favour of too many new signings.
ImBlue Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 Another 'Can Ranieri match up to Pearson' thread in disguise He's managed and rotated bigger players than this, I'm sure he will be fine
Max Power Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 They're professional footballers ffs. If they don't want to play then Claudio and whoever else can bin the clowns
EnglishOxide Posted 13 July 2015 Author Posted 13 July 2015 Another 'Can Ranieri match up to Pearson' thread in disguise I genuinely didn't intend it like that. We seemed to have loyal owners, a loyal manager and loyal players. This harboured an exceptional 'togetherness' which helped us last season. As managers come and go, players inevitably do too. Within 18 months we could have a team of mercenary's who give up at 2-0 down.
lgfualol Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 With Walsh and Shakey still here I don't see why not?
The Doctor Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 He's been criticised in particular for his time at Chelsea for rotating the squad too much, so I can't see him failing to keep players happy in terms of play time.
ImBlue Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 I was only messing. I think he will command respect with his stature in the game and the players will be happy to learn. I think the togetherness that was evident under Pearson will remain the same as the players seemed to share that bond too, not just for Pearson although they backed him. Hope he brings in a few signings but keeps the core of the team similar though.
whoareyaaa Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 We will be fine the players will respect him and learn from his knowledge.
sylofox Posted 13 July 2015 Posted 13 July 2015 I really don't give a fvck about the players I care about the team. So some kick off let them go. I rate our players over time and managers any that want to fvck off after one change and not fight can fvck right off. Did Steve Walsh ever moan ? No his heart was LCFC. He played for the club not a manager. If we have players only ready to play for Nige then fvck them off. I want LCFC players not Nige players.

The players will love him especially if they perform at a high level. But remember he has been brought here to move us to a top 10 team, so the players will probably have more competition, which is great if you ask me. All player I am sure will get a fair shot, which is ll they can ask for but the standard of acceptable performance is going to be higher.

Frank to be Posted 14 July 2015 Posted 14 July 2015 I'm sure Ranieri can keep a lid on things and that's all you really need. A fantastic team spirit is worth the odd point in a season. Individual determination is more important. Quality of the players is more important still. As long as things aren't falling apart then we'll be fine. It's the price you pay for progress. No room for sentiment. Onwards and upwards etc. Don't think for one minute any of these players would turn down a move to a bigger club. Why should we turn down bigger players?
