Drift Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 He was constantly talking to the players on the touchline yesterday, he didn't move from it. He had a lot ot influence on how we played. Thought that was nice to see. He spent the whole match there gesturing to the players.

You would expect an Italian manager to stamp his own authority on things. But the way yesterday went... No. It was basically like last season. Which I am happy about. But how much influence Is he having on the team You would have to be insane to change too much from the team that ended last season.

When you inherit a successful side, trying to change too much too fast is a stupid idea. Just look at Sousa. The early signs are promising.

Basically if yesterdays anything to go by he's going for gentle evolution rather than a massive revolution - but what we showed yesterday was a degree of flexibility that we didn't have under Nigel, with the ability to shift from a 3-5-2 to 3-4-3 to 4-4-2 to 4-4-1-1. You forgot 4-2-3-1.

People say the same thing about Martinez's early success at Everton, as soon as the defensive qualities Moyes coached into them went they became average. However the way Ranieri has got Drinkwater playing is good. He could have took the easy option and stuck Kante in there instead of actually managing a player.
m4DD0gg Posted 9 August 2015 Posted 9 August 2015 People need to get over it Ranieri is a far better manager than Pearson and has proved that in the premiership, Italy and to some extent France. He is a step up and will improve the club, additionally he is not tapped in the head either.
